    The Teams

As well as Minter, British fighters lined up are former WBU world light-middleweight champion Wayne Alexander, ex-ABA light-middleweight champion Paul Smith, Hartlepool's English light-welterweight title-holder Nigel Wright, flashy unbeaten London middleweight Anthony Small and fellow prospects Martin Concepcion and Newcastle's Paul Buchanan, who will be fighting in front of his home crowd.

The American team consists of Detroit light-middle Cornelius 'K9' Bundrage, winner of 25 of his 27 fights, former IBA light-middleweight champion Grady 'Bad Boy' Brewer, ex-ABO welterweight challenger 'Furious' Freddi Curiel, Alfons Gomez, Walter '2 Guns' Wright, Jerson Ravelo and Miguel Espino, all with solid records.

Some decent fighters and decent fights by the looks of it...shame we'll know the results beforehand.

It's not being shown live. All the fights are happening on one night (30th) but they're screening them on a weekly basis...same as the contender...

...they'll do the mushy stuff so people care about the character before seeing them fight...Alexander is a due a brutal KO - dunno how well that'll go down

Thats gotta be one of the match-ups ain't it

Type of show that will suit the likes of Anthony Small too.

Who's gonna come up to 'my hood' (Newcastle? ) to see it then.

Sugar Ray is over here today organising it all...

in the space of two days I've had the chance to meet Sugar Ray (not really... he's not doing appearances... I'd have to stalk him) Simon Pegg (cinema I work at... was invite only for his fan club or something and the bastards wouldn't let me work that night) and I'm seeing Gym Class Heroes tonight.

Should be going Ring Side for this... always get court side tickets for the basketball games at the Arena (eagles are still number one ) and stuff at the arena... my brother is a dirty press mongrel...

Personally, I think it's unfair for the United States to use a group of guys who know each other already.  Not only are they "friends" but they know what it's like to be followed by cameras.

I imagine it's being done because K9 and those guys already have a fan base in both countries.  Still, it seems like a slight advantage.

Bunrage has the disadvantage of not being very good though

But they're from the US fighting a bunch of English men infront of an Arena full of Geordies...
