Damn, never heard of the George fallout.
The thing I like about Roy and George is that they both have great public voices.
It's fun listening to them talk.
Even when Manny and Lennox are trying to say things of validity, it's brain numbing listening to them trying to spit out the words.
But when George is saying things even things with no substance, at least he says them with a passion! Gotta respect a guy who believes in his cause whatever the hell that cause is!

Actually I thought Roy Jones was pretty good as an announcer...Not biased and unlike many fighters was able to put perspective into fights....Many guest announcers who were boxers never give anyone else credit deserved

Yeh i totally agree.. That was one thing i noticed about george..Of course i dont hold it against him..
But i did tend to notice he favoured certain fighters..
One for instance is felix trinidad..He must have been a fan of tito's or something because he gave him some incredible praise during a few fights i remember.. Especially the mamadou thiam fight..
I remember george spoke of how god blessed tito with such power.. You cant learn what felix has in the gym and that some of it is technique.. Another example of repetition is how during alot of tito fights he would explain how tito stands on the ball of the right foot and bends down at the knees before firing a shot.. how he came up with a punch like a track runner..lol
But fair play to him..Tito is great
    Peace

I recall him saying he wanted to spend more time with his wife and Family, it was before the mention of the 58 year old's comeback, that didn't happen.

I always thought there was some friction between he and Larry Merchant. The last couple of fights there were some awkward on-air disagreements between them.

I bet ya the George's professional personality didn't want to go public with it.

I also cannot remember why RJJ was let go, but seem to remember reading about it somewhere.

    The last time I saw/heard George co-commentating was the Cotto/Malignaggi fight...I don't even
know if it was on HBO...but I always liked George,he surprised from time to time with real boxing-
wisdom or insights and he was funny ...called Malignaggi "a tough cooky..." lol ...

That wasn't on HBO, it was an independently produced PPV, I think by Bob Arum.
I can't remember which fight was Foreman's last with HBO, but it was before that Cotto fight.
