Most people who posted on this thread seem to have good sense .
Ive heard alot of rubbish in the past about Vitali was ahead on the cards etc , he should have won
Bottom line is he got beat fair and square .
Lennox won get over it!
As much as I like vitali he simply lost that fight. I mean shit did you see his fockin eye in that fight, it was insane! Shit happens though, jeah he was ahead on points but a tko is tko and I'm glad he wasn't allowed to continue. I'm sure lewis would have been able to land on his eye a few more times, and then what? Vitali probably would have been left with one working eye! It was a legit stopage, jeah vitali was ahead on points, but how many times has this happened in the history of the sport where a fighter that's behind on points stops the other guy, to many to count! I would have loved to see a rematch, I don't care if lenox was past his prime or not, that was one of the few awesome hw fights we've had over the past couple years, and I certainly wouldn't have minded to see a rematch.
My favorite fighter (insert name here) was winning EVERY fight.
Right up until
a) the bell rang
b) he fell behind on points and lost a decision
c) he got KO'd
d) he got pounded so bad he was horrible cut and the fight HAD to be stopped
e) insert lame Klitschko excuse here for next loss
i think if no cuts or rematch vitali stops lewis but in that fight lewis won end of story

His eye wasn't bleeding, his eye was almost hanging out of his head. If you don't think that cut was reason enough to stop a fight you're an idiot.Originally Posted by hardrock
Lennox took the fight lightly.....He figured that he would KO Vitaly with no problems...He had seen Wlad crumble and all the word at that time was Wlad was the more dangerous of the two...
Lennox had shades of Rahman 1 since round 2...He was tired and sloppy...Vitaly was ahead yes but by the time of the stoppage Vitaly was huffing and puffing himself....
Lewis had the experience to pull through the late rounds while tired....Wether he would have won or not I don't know but again Vitaly was not all that healthy by then...and Thats besides the cut.....
IMO if Lewis came into the fight in full readiness...In shape fighting like he had a dangerous guy in front of him he would have manhandled Vitaly....Not that I am making an excuse for Lennox conditioning in that fight...As HW Champion u should treat every fight seriously...
Point though as everyone else has said that cut was from a punch and the fight needed to be stopped.....
I don't know what you are thinking saying otherwise.......Don't know how much you know about the sport itself or how to tell if an injury is serious...But Vitaly was on the verge of losing his eye if it went much further....He wouldhave ended up blind for sure

Kirk Johnson , Vitali was fighting on the undercard anyway . Both him and Lewis had the same noticeOriginally Posted by Mark TKO
It would explain the condition of lewisOriginally Posted by GAME
Yeah when you consider Lewis' age , weight and mentality for that fight, Vitali really should have knocked him out if he had anything about him . Mcall and Rahman took advantage took adavantge of it but Vitali was stopped in 6 rounds . Just highlights how poor Vitali was at his best .Originally Posted by miles
