Joe Mesi ain't that old....and he hasn't been in half as many battles as the rest of those guys. I wish him the best but that head injury worries me. I wish he had already gotten a TITLE SHOT so he'd know how he compares to the best of the division.

Oliver McCall is dangerous but he won't get another shot.

John Ruiz will be the first out of that group to get another title shot...he has like one a year whether he deserves it or not.
Joe Mesi is a very nice guy, just top notch people.. I would like him to be cleared by the commision and allowed to continue fighting the D level competition in his hometown he can makea good living, hellan excellent living at that , he puts asses in seats , Joe has a huge hometown following . I don't want him in there with the big threats. He will get hurt.. Joe don't have anywhere near the skill level to contend with the top guys and he can get hit easy and hurt badly , he was never top tier fighter at his very best IMO . ! I think he would make a terrific commentator, he isvery articulate, and knowledgeable about the fight game ,

I voted for McCall because all he needs is a couple lines and he'll knockout anyone....I swear he was jacked up when he beat Lennox, look at the fight he looked possessed. Staring down Lennox out of the corner and motioning him to come with it.Shoulda named him Oliver "eightball" McCall.

McCall is just an emotional guy to begin with. Last time I saw him, when he fought that Polish tatooed guy, he was damn near crying before he got into the ring, and was all tensed up and shaking and shat. He knocked the guy out, so I guess it works for him.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

Is anyone else having a tough time picking out who would get a belt first?... I kno i am. I mean, looking at 3 of the 4 champs right now
Valuev (other wise known as the abominal snow monster)
    Briggs
    Maskaev
I have at least 9 people on that list that I think could take a belt from the 3 current “champs” above. Its sad really, when I first saw this post I was like…”Holyfield !”, then I was like…”oh umm theres, rahman”, then I was like “crap, theres mcall” “oh boy, ruiz is there too, he could hug someone into submission”….. I struggled like this for awhile… And to be honest, a majority of the belts are up for grabs, and unless someone unifies we will see this for years to come.

Some can't seen to understand that its over.
Who do you think on the list has the BEST shot at really doing something in the HW division? More than just fluking into a title somewhere, AND WHY!
Any one I missed? 10+ years and say 30+ fights or so?

AND hey...which guy do you SERIOUSLY think should hang 'em up!
hey you forgot to add John L Sullivan and jack johnson to your list, cause these to will come back from the grave and take a title before any of those guys do
Take, or fight, for a title?

CORRIE SANDERS is more likely than any of them. Power and size. And he has very few round wear (or sparring wear and tear) since he's stopped opponents very early.

I just wonder; what HW in their right mind would risk getting tagged by that left and lose it all? I dont think Wlad would be too eager to see if he can avoid that left all nite. Valuev got schooled by Corrie in sparring (rumour has it) and Briggs would not want to fight a very fast guy almost of his own size. I suppose if he could fool some top 10 to fight him by looking really BAD the next times? Although his last outing he blasted the Australian champ out in normal style.

Perhaps if he got to fight some contender; but what contender would fight him? I see a similar problem for McCall - who would take the risk to fight him?

I kinda didn't include him cuz hes too legit..
But at 41-3 and fighting since '89 he fills the bill..
    other than the Vitali loss..
a good fight against Rahman. Hard puncher, good size, did bulk up abit last fight..he only negative...born in 1966!! so he's 41....
other than that...hard to argue with ya...anyone else wanna?

I think the risk part of it is.."whats in it for me?"
thats why he needs to take on some of the otherguys on teh list, to buil;d legitamacy...If he beats 3 of them then who ever takes him on sort of beats them all as well....get it...I dunno why a top heavy would give him a shot otherwise!

Corrie Sanders could have been a really good heavyweight if his training regimen didn't consist of 18 holes of golf in the morning and 18 more holes in the afternoon.
