Manfredo is a name in American boxing,not saying he is very good or even deservers to fight for the world title but people know the guy.

American TV want him to fight Calzaghe coz they will get higher ratings than if an unkown European was to fight him.Even if the European is better and deservers the fight more.

I could not belive how totally open he was about things.he said Joes next fight was going to be Hopkins if the money was right.He said they wanted about 4 million,did not say if this was pounds or dollars.Said Calzaghe was not interested in fighting Tarver or Taylor.

I can see why there would be no interest in Tarver. Frankly, I have no interest in seeing Tarver fight either.
But why wouldn't he want to fight Taylor? Taylor is smaller than him and hasn't looked that good recently, but he is still a star and has a big name. I wonder why Calzaghe wouldn't be interested in fighting Taylor.

If it's only genuine boxing fans that are buying the likes of Hopkins-Tarver-Wright-Taylor PPVs (average 250,000 to 400,000??) then why would these people not fork-out to see Calzaghe facing these guys?

Hopkins is good for the money IMO, but beating an old Hopkins wont actually make me respect Calzaghe more.
