Phillip Ndou.. Jt Nice one!!.. Had an amazing record even before fighting Pbf!.. Good fighter a greaaat deal of heart.. Never heard of his retirement until a fair while after.. He could still be big if he hadnt imo!

Vargas.. What can you say..Four defeats..But no doubt Against other all time greats.. If he could make 154 and destroy the contenders before he retires he could still make a great..
But taking tito ( Who probably took alot out of a young solid vargas)..Oscar.. Took what was left..
Was up (imo) On the first vargas fight before stopped on horrific swelling.. And caught clean in the second.. In MY opinion too much pressure to win after three big losses in his career..
A real shame..If he hadnt been so tough headed and spaced his fights and picked them wisely he could have been one of the greatest potentially..

Pacnito bojado... Was a great deal of hype surrounding him...a very good fighter.. Its old news now ..Too much too soon for sure.. Could have been the biggest prospect going..

Chris Byrd.... Had such a lengthyb riegn as champ.. A real small guy.. id real great things but after those losses to wlad and other bad performances n losses we dont seem to have the same spark when mentioning his name..
Makes me wonder if he will be regarded as a great heavyweight even th0ugh i feel he should be..
Bieng the little guy matching his boxing skill against the very best is a class thing to have done and shouldt get his props.. I just feel he never put an exclamation on the storyline..

One of the best examples has to be Davey Moore. A boy wonder, world champ after just 10 fights at the age of 23.

He faced Roberto Duran in his fourth defense, got knocked out then just wasn't the same fighter. Washed up just a few years later, never got another sniff at a title and died in an accident in 1988 aged 29

    One of boxing's saddest stories.

    about 25yrs...

I liked Shavers cause he was a nice guy who startred boxing at a late age 22 thats astonishing!!!, he packed a thunderbolt of a punch and was someone who was always on the cusp but couldnt get over that hump of greatness, he fought plenty of Hall of Famers and pushed them to the brink but couldnt achieve that elusive championship.... If he started Boxing at an earlier age he with out a doubt could have been one of the top 5 heavyweights ever!!!! If the same Shavers existed today that fought in the late 70's and 80's he would be undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the world

Well Bowe never was great plain and simple loved the Dinner table more than the Gym, and had an arsehole of a handler that ran his career into the ground(Rock Newman) Holyfield was the best heavy of the 90's bar none

I'm with you man, I can't believe how hard he hit. And I'll never forget the performance he put up against Ali. Even if it was a shot Ali, it was a solid performance and he showed good cardio which I guess is something he lacked during most of his career.

Good call with Ibeabuchi, Harry Simon was another one too. Unbeaten, beat Winky Wright, then got locked up and never heard of again.
