So you would have judged B-Hop chances against his future opposition based on the early loses he had in his career?

    Or Alexis Arguello?
They had loses early as most fighters do, does not necessairly implement how future matchups will go....
100 punches a round, I take it you didn't see his last fight against Paku where he wasn't as active and sharp with his punches....

I like Paul as a fighter hes like Margarito but they share their differences also (check the closet fan thread)
But as I said the very same day he beat Mathysse people on this forum started matching him up against the best in the Div. I mean talking about overhyping/over rating....
The kids good no doubt and has come along well his quality of opposition is OK for the kid, but it's clear Tony has fought the better opposition win, loose or draw..... If you can't see that then thats just being silly....

I'm not saying Tony will win cause of that all I'm saying is Tonys fought better opposition....

Funny how this shut the Floyda fans the hell up.

Going to court to try and get this fight.

    Floyd ducked Tony.

    End of story.

    Your boyfriend ducked Tony.

You can not escape that one nor will you escape when Floyd get's beat by Oscar

I bet after the Oscar fight we will never see you again.

Your days are numbered here on Saddo.

    lol

p4pqueen followed me around saying Tony ducked Williams when in fact Floyd ducked Tony.

A good match this.. If Williams can handle the constant pressure of Tony he should do well, Margarito can be out boxed, and his punches are accumulative, not debilitating one punch power. .. I think that gives Williams a chance to out box Margarito, and possibly stop Margarito late. Williams is very fast and accurate with his shots and Paul carries more of a punch.. just my opinion. One thing is for sure Its a good exciting match,. Williams heart will be tested, Margarito keeps the punch output high. And stays on his man through the course of a match.

Look at the things that they BOTH going through in order to make the fight happen....

All that keeps playing in my head is this....

I love when Floyd says the following:

"We are not fighting to prove to the boxing fans who the best is."
    Floyd Mayweather Jr.

All I can say to that comment is: You are God Damn right you ain't.

I think Williams wouldn't be a fun guy to get hit by like Wright or Mayweather, but he lacks that one punch power. However he has good speed, great combinations, and freakish size. Margaritto IMO shouldn't win this fight how I see it.

You Margo fans are trying to make it seem like this guy is so great...and we know its not true.As for past opposition....if you lose to a sorry a$$ guy...I dont care what part of your career you were in...its a loss...and it matters.
For the record...No one is ducking Margo. He wont sell tickets and is a nobody to basically the entire boxing world.Without Arum...he would be somewhere boxing for 200$ a fight.
Its pretty obvious that this forum is filled with "experts"..but for some reason they get proven wrong fight after fight.
    Baldo will KO Floyd
    Gatti is gonna KO Floyd
    Cotto is gonna KO Malignaggi
Cotto is gonna KO Urkal in 3rounds
Taylor is gonna KO Ouma in 5rounds
    etc...

Would you please care to post where ANYONE posted ANYTHING in reference to Margarito beaing GREAT, cause I sure as hell would laugh at WHOEVER posted that cause we all know and he knows he AIN'T great.....
Shit! I'll be the 1st to tell you hes not great....

But what he is, is a professional fighter/boxer whos willing to mix it up against anyone.... That's inlcuding Zab, PBF, Baldomir, ODLH, SSM whomevers at the top hes willing to fight them.... It just so happens that the guys that have been at the top haven't giving him the time of day....
I'll also be the 1st to tell you in some ways it's his fault that hes been inactive, he played the hand he was delt he took gambles waiting on the supposedly Champs to step up and accept the fights and all 3 turned him down, Zab was 1st then he went after PBF he turned it down and theres video on this shit!!! So how people are saying PBF didn't turn down the fight is FWOCKING MIND BOGGLING, Zab then got beat by Baldomir and Baldomir turned it down and said he was after the $$$ which ment PBF.... Anyway! Margarito should have at least stayed active and fought.... He didn't then when the talks of Margarito vs. Williams started Margarito could have easily tooken on a easy task some obscure guy just to get by but he didn't he fought Clottey while Williams took on Paku
Margarito himself will tell you hes not the best he doesn't consider himself the best but he is willing to fight the best in order to become the best, all he want's is his long overdue shot at the Welter crown thats all he want's and if Zab & PBF run their mouths that Maragrito is an easy win they why not take his money and kick his ass if it's as easy as they make it out to be?

And PBF is a monster at the box office right?
PBF couldn't sell out a School Gym if he ever fought in one.
My man your seriously delusional to say something like that when PBF is probably worst as far as box office goes.... I bet you, you could hold a fight for PBF in Grand Rapids and that shit! would NOT sell out but then hold a fight in Tijuana for Margarito forget it that shit! sells out....
Heres something to put this in perspective for you.

Why do you think PBF vs. Gatti was held in Atlantic City and not ANYWHERE ELSE in the WORLD?

I'll give you as much time as you need to think about that, OK. You let me know when your ready I'll be here waiting.

Last week I predicted a Bernard Dunne TKO in rd. 3 and hey! guess what?
He did it.... got me 30 points in the prediction contest. I'm still in 21st place though... :P

Floyd could not attract flies if he smeared monkey crap all over himself and later sprinkled himself with powderd sugar

I did think that Cotto would KO Malignaggi. I did not count on Cotto breaking his hand.
Did you see Malis face? Just imagine if Cotto had not broken his sledge hammer.
I totally underestimated Urkals chin. It's no wonder he has only been stopped once and that was because his nose was in his brain

I never thought Floyd would lose against old azz Gatti but I was praying for a hell Mary but that was just wishful thinking.

I knew for a fact that Old azz baldosmear was not going to break a grape. Hell! He could not bust a grape with a 3 lb sledge hammer. How the hell is he going to knock out floyd who runs all night and baldo hits like a female? I did think that Floyd could have knocked out Baldosmear but Floyd was afraid to engage. Comes in dressed like a gladiator and yet does not finish off his opponent? Gladiators were forced to kill to please the emperor and appease the crowd. Floyd would have been whipped 200 lashes for his performance and then hung by his clitoris.

I also did not think Taylor would knock out Kassim.

Margarito might not be the greatest but he puts fear into the heart of the self proclaimed greatest.

I'll reply in depth here later but CC to DG and Mick, you really made your points well in this thread.

AND NO ONE HAD SAID MARGARITO IS GREAT HERE! WHERE? MY POINT WAS HE WAS ACCUSED IF DUCKING PAUL FOR A NUMBER OF REASONS,FEIGNING INJURY/NOT FIGHTING HIM AND LOTS OF OTHER BULLCRAP REASONS,yet he he went through the dam courts to fight him when he did not have to. What a warrior! What a mentality! Where are those people accusing him of ducking? Oh right,he's ducking someone else now right?

Tony Margarito is an old school fighter,a man prepared to fight anyone anywhere as you can see by his resume which although it does not have star names,it has alot of under rated badasses and Williams is another tough tough opponent. No one said Tony was the best but he is a danger to anyone at 147,and his attitude is what more fighters need rather than trying be "businessmen"

As Mick said, all Tony wants is a shot at the bigtime and no one deserves it more than him. He's beaten the prospects, the unbeaten guys, the old champs, now give him the big name and lets see what he can do.

And those vidoes and the reactions show you all you need to know about PBF not facing Tony. If people say who has Tony fought, you look silly, especially now he's fighting Williams who,De La Hoya aside,is much much more dangerous than anyone Floyd has fought at 140/147. And IF Tony wins,he'll fight Cotto.

The excuses are running dry,I just hope Margarito wins, thereby forcing the issue!!!

The "De La Hoya aside" thing is a pretty enormous aside. I also maintain that Zab is better comp than the unproven Williams (Zab-Cotto is a pick'em). Still, I'm glad to see Tony take this fight. Williams is way too green, and Tony should win. The real test will be against the Cotto-Zab winner, and I give Margarito little to no chance of winning that one.

1st.What fighter from 140-154 isnt calling Floyd out?The fact that the guys at the top arent fighting Tony doesnt mean that they are running from him...what do they gain by fighting him?I honestly dont see how Margo poses a serious threat to Floyd, and it seems like all of the welters are chasing Floyd instead of battling it out.Margo isnt calling out Cotto.Cotto isnt calling out Hatton.Margo isnt calling out Mosley.None of them want to risk losing there chance to fight Floyd.
2.Fact it takes TWO to sell tickets...and the fight was held in Atlantic city b/c it had a large Gatti fan base...but its a major boxing city. Why would you try to have a ppv fight in Grand RapidsThe DLH vs Floyd fight is projected to break records...are you saying Floyd has nothing to do with thisIf so....YOU are delusional.
3.As for the predictions...all of a sudden nobody wants to stick by their decision.I believe the poll had around 50% of the people saying Oscar by KO.Come May 6th...there will be so many excuses as to why they were wrong.
4.Answer this...why is Cotto fighting Zab if he has no power and is washed up?It seems that when Floyd beats someone they were either washed up,a bum,or past their prime. Now everyone is shittin on Baldo...but at the time he was considered to true welter champ.
