If you are referring to Johnathan Reid the guy is F****** terrible. Schooled by Brinkley and kicked out in the first round of the Contender season 1, he followed it up by getting knocked out by Miguel Espino and has lost 3 out more times since then. His last 6 fights he's lost five being stopped twice. When you only fight 5 rounders that's pretty bad.

And contrary to what Game said he has never been a world champ. He fought for a title against William Joppy in 2000 and big suprise he got knocked out then as well

I'd fancy him to give Tarrick a decent fight but that's about it. Him and Brent Cooper would probably be a pick em.

By far the best performers have been Sergio Mora and Steve Forbes. Forbes just schooled one of boxing's top prospects last weekend and got robbed by the judges.

Mora has beaten Manfredo twice so why people feel Manfredo has done more is completely beyond me.

Mora's lopsided victory over Eric Regan is bigger than either of Manfredo's wins over Spina and Pemberton. Regan beat Yory Boy Campas and has a solid record, and Sergio also stopped Archak Termeliksetian who up until recently was very highly rated.

Manfredo has done well for himself but he's succeeded more through projecting the right image than actual boxing ability. He was eliminated in the first round of the tournament, barely scraped through in every other round once voted back in and then lost every round in the final with Mora.

He did much better in the rematch but Mora was cut horribly and managed to recover his composure and come back.

I'm rooting for Peter to do well against Calzaghe but the only reason people are voting for him are because he's more likeable.

Going into the Contender he was world ranked, as high as 3 in the world with the WBO. He's underachieved if anything.

Sergio had only had 11 fights and he won the whole show. Joey Gilbert has done really really well also.

I'd rate Manfredo and Ishe Smith as the biggest underachievers on the show given their supposed pre-contender pedigree.

    Here endeth the lesson
You'ven never gotten over Manfredo being brought back. You one of only 3 people in the world who things Manfredo lost the 2nd fight. Unfortunately, the other two were california judges. Manfredo definately won 2 rounds, in the second fight. I give him three. Unfortunately, Mora won a few rounds more convincingly than Manfredo won any of his rounds. And for the record, Mora punches about as hard as my baby sister.

What has Mora done since winning? Nothing. He hasn't stayed busy enough, and he acts like a prima donna. Turned down the Taylor fight (smart, but cowardly). Peter is fighting the Ring champ in his backyard, and most people have given him credit for developing his skills significantly since the show. He doesn't seem like an underachiever to me. Maybe he underachieved on the show by not winning, but I wouldn't call him an underachiever for his career.
I also thought that Manfredo did not do enough to win that fight.
He did a lot of show boating, when in fact he should have gone for the kill. Mora was sick and cut and Peter could not take him out? It went so bad for Peter that he got out of his game plan and let the fight slip away.
If Sergio Mora is such a soft hitter, then why was Manfredo not walking through anything that Sergio was landing? I think he hits a little harder than people think.

I do remember in that second fight I heard Tommy G in the fourth round say that Sergio hit Peter so hard, that Peter eyes rolled into the back of his head. Can your baby sister hit Peter hard enough to make his eyes roll into the back of his head? Tommy was ringside. I wont even mention how Teddy, Joe and Tommy were all trying to undermine Sergio's performance in his second fight against Peter. And all because Sergio Mora was not jabbing enough. Peter did jab more but Peter is no Floyd Mayweather Jr and Peter's jabs were not landing. He was just throwing the jab out to keep Mora off of him and was not landing the jab a la Floyd Mayweather Jr. I tell you this. You could not put together a 30 second video hightligh of that fight in Peter's favor where he so called schooled Sergio. I have already challenged people and guess what? No one has been able to come up with it. The most they can do is show Peter Jabbing at the air or show where Sergio tripped in the third. You guys sure can't produce any footage of the so called power shot that hit Sergio and cut his eye because that my friends does not exsist. The fight for the most part was boring but Sergio came on strong in the last 4 rounds to remain undefeated. Now all the Manfredo fans think Peter is the man because he is getting an undeserved title shot? This some how makes Peter better than Sergio? What part of underserving don't you inbred hillbillies understand? Peter going to a gun fight with a knife some how makes him better than Sergio? I hardly think so. It sure in the hell does not make him smarter. Peter is a joke and he will choke again. How can Peter even have any nuthugging fans when he sucks balls? If Sergio sucks, Peter sucks 10 times worse.

Now sit down and shut up and find a decent fighter to support. You are embarrassing yourself. There might be some room on the Cotto express deep in the back. You can get on but you have to clean the toilets while you are back there

What I find most amusing about all this is that you folks and Peter thought that this second fight was for that trinket. The trinket was not on the line as it was more like a one time deal. The belt does not exchange hands. Peter was telling Sergio in the second fight that the belt was his What a phuking IDIOT! I guess no one told him because after the fight he was telling the media that he wanted to bring the belt home, not for him but for his inbred fans I think Peter still don't know the belt was not on the line. Some folks are just as dumb as the day is long.

Nice rant. Not even worth responding. My favorite part was the "inbred hillbillies" comment.

    EDIT:

I see you are from Cali. Fair enough. You are officially allowed to be a Mora nuthugger. He is your local guy. By the same rule, as a Boston/Providence guy, I get a pass on Manfredo

Ha I didn't expect to see anyone agreeing with me at all seeing as Mora is only slightly less hated than Audley Harrison who is less well liked than Ian Huntley.

Anyways its a fact that Sergio's record is more impressive than any of the other contenders. He's got wins over Ishe Smith, Manfredo twice, Regan, Turmeliksetian etc. If he wasn't from the Contender people would rate him as a danger man at 160 in the way that Paulie Malignaggi is at 140, a soft punching but slick, fast boxer.

I don't care what people think really, I like him. The only contender who didn't talk smack on the show and the only one who didn't lose.

That makes him the best in my books.
