I have no problem with him retiring either. He doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. All i am saying is that if he does in fact fight one more time, no matter who it is, he will not embarrass himself. Marco is a very smart fighter and business man...if he feels he is past it he will retire...but if he feels like he has another fight in him...i wouldn't question his judgment.

    Does anyone agree ??
    Didn't read the note.

Here's the thing...Barrera emboddies what is best in boxing.

He's already HOF material & could make bank either commentating, training or just being a figure head.

Take an easy win...then retire. Fwock the Marquez or Pac rematch...you might get hammered the fwock out.

That is exactly how I feel mate. I would hate to see Barrera sat on the canvas looking at his corner like Morales was. Its heartbreaking for me to see a fighter with so much heart lose like that.

You are going too far by saying he would be a stepping stone for younger fighters!!

No no,sorry poor wording on my part, what I meant was I rather he stopped now at the top, where he belongs rather than hang around and become one of those guys used as stepping stones.

It also seems that Manny has lost his concentration (movies, politics, music, etc.)...and anything short of a tremendously prepared Pac, could more than lose against Marco. This is all a mute point. If Barrera was to retire...all respect to him. He has provided us with so many great memories. But if he was to fight on one more time...he would most certainly not be a punching bag for ANYONE.
Sorry, poor wording although I stnad by my prediction, the Pac monster eats MAB alive in the rematch. If Marco can't bang with JMM for 12 rounds,he' cant with Pac either imo. Manny's biggest enemy right now is himself but all these things were being said before his 3rd fight with EM too,and he destroyed Morales. He'll destroy Solis too,via KO and he'll beat anyone else he faces for a long long time, except possibly JMM.
Thats cool, I understand a bit better now.

I wouldnt want Marco to stick around for long if he continues though, just 1 or two fights. But only if he is really motivated....
