He'd batter Taylor inside the distance too which unfortunately is not the route i want to see him take.
I hope Froch can fight again soon as possible to turn the division on it's head.
Froch would give Calzaghe more problems than Kessler ever could imo.

Lets wake up into real world folks no one could lose weight and challenge either guy you would get beating like most people would and Mundine stopping Calzaghe in 3 ?? i can't believe you just said that considering Calzaghe has only be on floor twice and has never been koed and wasn't Mundine koed by feather fisted Sven Ottke who has record of 34 wins 6 kos

Theres only 2 fights left for him at SMW...Kessler and (if he beats Inkin-He'll KO him 100%) Carl Froch that i would consider proper fights.
Nothing else appeals to me at all in the division.
Time to move up a weight if he's serious about some BIG names as he's running out of time.

Early stopage is an understatement. That was a joke. I come away from that fight thinking, Joe could beat Manfredo if they would fight, but I dont know because it never really happened. Its was really worse for Joe than Petter if you think about it. Joe was robbed of stopping Petter the right way. Im glad is wasent one of the 35,000 suckers that paid to see that. I think Manfredo acted respectful during the interview after the fight considering.

I think Joe is a great champ . I see no reason he would be stopped by anybody. I think he would whip Jermain or Bernard easy .He is so fast. Kessler is the only fight he should take. I think he should whip all three then retire.

Calzaghe is overated fighters like Kessler,Taylor or even Froch will prove this out of 43 fights Robin Reid gave him his toughest fight held him to a SD12 some people thought Reid won others Calzaghe it needed a rematch Calzaghe did'nt want it shows how good he is a fighter who wanted to be great would have wanted to prove himself Calzaghe did'nt and apart from the Lacy thing he never has proved himself to be as good as he makes out lets just get a great fight starting with Kessler

premature stoppage ...yes Calzaghe would have won anywayz-however pete didnt get a fair chance. he was bobing and weaving at the point of stoppage, and he was never hurt .. referee sux- referee sux -referee sux. manfredo goes home w/o shame and Calzaghe gets a match handed over 2 him.

had it been vice versa with mandfredo flurring Calzaghe against the ropes... it would not have been stoped.

Yeah that's a good point but I guess i mentioned those 2 because they are 2 of the highest rated ones at the moment. Also I was mainly commenting on what I saw in this particular fight. I'd imagine Calzaghe would prepare differently if he was to fight Kessler or Mundine and Mundine is a much better fighter now compared to when he fought Ottke.

If you dont throw any punches how can you possibly win the fight?? Manfredo froze on the big occasion. He is and never will be in calzaghe'c class.

calzaghe could have taken him out at any point of that fight IMO. I dont know what the official stats say but im pretty sure that manfredo only threw about 15 punches in the whole fight

Now it been confirmed Calslappy has broke his left hand which now makes the stoppage look worse in my eyes did the ref help Joe out

Come on, Manfredo didn't get a chance to fight. I definitely didn't see any domination. I thought Joe would win, but the first round was close, the second Joe won clearly, and the third got stopped without any damage done by either fighter. Manfredo was doing ok. He stated his strategy was to box not bomb him out. So I would think he was waiting for Joe to stop punching and then he would punch back, he wasn't hurt, wasn't even getting hit with most of those shots. It was an absolutely RIDICULOUS stoppage.

Granted hardly anyone thought Manfredo would win, but most, myself included thought he would give a decent showing. He was doing fine, and apparently the ref felt that it was a total mismatch and he was looking for a reason to stop it. There's really no other explanation. There wasn't a single shot landed that looked damaging. Peter ate a few straight punches, but nothing to indicate he was hurt. Nothing at all....... It was ridiculous. That ref would have stopped every fight Sugar Ray Leonard threw his shoe shine combo at the end of the round. Winky Wright would be in big trouble with this ref , he always lets people punch his guard. Probably would have given Soliman a tko against Winky.

Joe to me looked like he carried Manfredo for the first 2 rounds prob to try and make a show of it for the fans as it looked to me like he could have took him out at will from the first bell.

there is only one big challange at super middle for Joe at this point in time and and that is Kessler that fight needs made... but is looking very unlikly that it is going to be any time soon which is a big shame as Joe aint getting any younger.

but i dont pay too much attantion to the Kessler will kill Joe brigade as there was a similar bunch not so long ago claiming that Lacy would.... and most likly this time next year if they ever make the fight we'll have people claiming Kessler was a overhyped clown and Joe should stop ducking whoever is the latest bandwagon fighter
but saying all that Joe Vs Kessler needs to happen they are the 2 best fighters at supermiddle and the only reason it isnt is because one of the promoters musnt want it to

but please Joe NO MORE MIS-MATCHS... your far too good for the WWF crap
Finally a bit of sense in this thread. To be pissed off at Calzaghe is one thing but to say that Mundine and Kessler would stop him in 3 just makes you sound like a numpty.
