He was intelligently defending himself, blocking punches, dodging punches, he just didn't punch back. But he was most certainly defending himself.

I guarantee if the roles were reversed and Peter was throwing a bunch of wild punches and Joe was dodging and blocking but not punching back, if the ref stopped it there would be outrage. People would say "Joe is the champ and he was waiting for Peter to tire". But since it was Manfredo they say "Peter was to inexperienced and should have known better". Freakin nuts. Manfredo is a solid experienced fighter and he probably would have lost but it was still the most bogus stoppage I have ever seen.

No way the blame goes to anyone but that crackhead ref.
CC thats what ive been saying since saturday
yeah man i agree with that aswell. the stopage was blatantly premature and i would be goin mad if i was manfredo. but i still think if the fight wasnt stopped there it was only going to happen a little later on, perhaps even in the same round.

Manfredo's a bum and quite honestly so are all the contender fighters. Manfredo was ranked 3rd in the world b4 that thing started since then hes went 1-1 against a journeyman and 0-2 against the most overhyped fighter today the latin fake. I haven't seen the fight and i'll take everyones word that it was stopped prematurely but it really doesn't matter. He had his chance to step up while he was a highly rated (i hate using this word right now because of the show title) contender and he blew it. Season 2 had a much more promising cast and i think maybe 1 or 2 of those guys might become something one day.

I disagree that they are bum's. They are contenders, not champs. I truly feel if there wasn't so much managed match making in boxing we would have a lot more upsets. Manfredo is a solid pro. He's in shape, got some skill, and a little power. He's not gonna be an all time great, but he's fighting up to and maybe a little past his physical abilities. I think people expect every up and coming fighter on tv to be an all time great. It's just too high of expectations, not that these guys suck.
