Truly, for pac's stature right now, it is indeed just an average fight for him. interestingly, he still manages to knock this kiddo around in just a matter of 8 rounds. thereby, a convicing win again for him. I know the agony man, during nazeem hameds winning days, i had to go out when a pack of people in the bar where i usually stayed goes crazy when hamed's fight comes. Until he ran blindly into a master boxer and apparently one of the truly ATG, Marco antonio barrera. since then i found out watching boxing is such fun.

anyway, in the case of pacman. this guy is very very hard to beat. even if you can withstand his hardest blows a boxer will soon realize that he has piled up such a huge volume of punches and you worry that the least you could get is maybe a draw only. His aggression is such that, any judge will appreciate it. another problem with manny is, at first many think he is just a dumb slugger who is strong and fast and all but actually he is an intelligent fighter who setup his power punches well and uses his physical gift very well. Notice that his style varies every opponent he faces, he is always an enigmatic by nature which i guess helped him in some ways. One thing is for sure though, this guy always comes hard and fast as if he is willing to drain all his energy at any round if his opponent pisses him off. That ferocious burning attitude is what keeps the fans generally "entertained" They know at anytime, if manny gets tagged hard, that animal inside of him will come out and even if he wouldn't knockdown his opponent the volume of power punches thrown alone is truly massive and spectacular.

Anyway, a fight against marquez should happen immediately because i really feel this is the only guy that can pressure back pacman. although his winning percentage would be lower this time around because pac as we all know, knows a little boxing right now. It should be quite entertaining because apparently, unlike the great morales in their trilogy this time around he will not be expecting the phrase " no mas" anytime during the fight. psychologically, pac knows the guy he will be fighting is tougher and as the round would go by hopefully marquez will be more focused and even tougher like their first fight and not succumb to pacmans burning ferocity. it's hard, really very hard but i think of all the challenger right now, marquez is the tested and proven one that can possibly do this.

The title of the thread is a bit misleading, as if it is trying to suggest that beating Solis has put him up a position to #1, but I would have to disagree with that fight making the difference.

PErsonally I have him at #1 anyway, with Floyd needing a dominating performance to go #1, and that is simply on the quality of opponents they have fought recently, and their success. All I'm saying is that Zab Judah and Carlos Baldomir are not all-time greats, but beating ODLH, even a slightly older ODLH, will be a very good feather in the Mayweather cap.

no problem mate, i really appreciate your post.
actually, it not a real cool-click but just a smiley. i think i'm not eligible yet to give real cool-click points.

i am with you on marquez being the one who will give pac the toughest challenge as of now.
imo, this fight should really happen now in order stop the dispute of who really wins their first bout.

He's pleasing, he's quick, he's obviously good, but were he the same weight as Mayweather Naturally he would be destroyed.

People keep mentioning Pac's record....P4P has NOTHING to do with your record. It basically means that if all boxers were the same size and weight who would be the best.Pac has way to many flaws in his fight game and he has a loss in his prime.Floyd doesnt.Winky is #2 in my opinion. This forum is the only place where I hear people saying that Floyd is not #1.

That's ridiculous, lots of places debate whether Pacman/Floyd are P4P number 1 and there is no SET definition of what P4P is. That's what YOU think it is,and I agree,it's certainly something to take into consideration but so too is level of competition, etc. Heck,I saw an interview with Larry Merchant, who has been involved in boxing longer than most have been alive and he said he thought excitement was a factor. I'm not saying I agree but there is no set definition.

Larry Merchant is a commentator....NOT a boxing expert.Who honestly thinks Pac is p4p better than Floyd?Floyds game is nearly perfect.I can point out 4 big flaws right off the top in Pacs game.P4P has NOTHING to do with excitement. If PAc and Floyd were at the same weight,Pac would lose. All of the boxing mags have him #1...every boxer I know has him #1.Online is the only time I see this being debated.

It's true El Gamo the p4p was made to say who would beat who at the same weight, and Floyd would destroy Pacquaio. He is too fast, too good defensively, and Pacquaio is too poor defensively. I also think Winky would beat him.

O hell no!!! How can a technically flawed fighter become p4p best? He is exciting and strong as hell but he gets hit alot. I'm a big fan but I won't rate him higher than Floyd or even Winky.

P4P means acheivements imo along with skill but Pac might have the bigger wins then PBF, but PBF is grandfathered in and won't give it up until he slips up. I don't get why beating Solis of all people would make him P4P best now?

Floyd has made some good fighters look like shit. He's riding a 37 fight winning streak right now, he's a 4 divison world champ. Pacquiao is great and is definatly #2 in my book, but Floyd is just on a different level than him IMO. Pacquiao dropped a decision to Morales not to long ago, Floyd has never been bested.
