What makes me shudder at first glance is that Bowe is ranked above Larry Holmes and Joe Lewis.

My top 10 all time list might make some folks gag though...

    1. Joe Louis
    2. Ali
    3. Rocky Marciano
    4. Larry Holmes
    5. John (Late for supper) Sullivan
    6. Jack Johnson
    7. Gene Tunney
    8. Jack Dempsy
    9. Sonny Liston
    10. Mike Tyson

All of those fighters changed the world and were the best in the division!!

Since when did Herbie Hide have a part in the scheme of things?!

An old Larry Donald don't cut it

Corrie Sander's yes good win but hardly great win

Sorry not seen Kirk can't comment

Losing to Lewis how does that get you into top 10 if thats case Mercer should be top 10 because he almost beat Lewis by decision

Vaughn Bean ?? all i know about him is he lost to Holyfield

Oh please Ross Puritty is journeyman

Orlin Norris was decent thats about it

    Chris Byrd natural cruiserweight ??

Time Hoffman lost to journeyman Michael Sprott

Herbie Hide had one of weakest chins in hw history and is natural cruiserweight

Obed got koed in first round by Tua

    Ed Mahone who ??

    Sorry that doesn't cut it.

The loss Vitali got from the Lewis fight was bs like Jameel McCline and his loss to Nikolay Valuev.Just a plane old chickenshit win for Lewis.

Uhh i call it delivering a right hand cutting the other guy so bad that fight has to be called off i would say Mercer vs Lewis is much more debatable because that could of been Mercer's decision i personally scored it draw.

No it wasnt. It was a loss from heavy hands upon relatively weak flesh. If the fight had continued a bloodbath would have ensued and a face transplant would have been needed...

I have to agree that the old fighters where tougher as some would fight around 15 fights in a year even if they had broken bones or cuts they would still fight a few weeks later unlike todays fighter who fight 2 or 3 time a year nd probably jst once if they get injured so i think thats a gd mesure of how tough they where but one thing i will say is that today fights get stopped as soon as someone looks hurt but in them days the ref rarely stopped fights so i think thats why there fights where more exciting nd brutal.I also agree that vitali does not deserve to be on that list due to the fact he hasnt acheived as much as the others nd his biggest acheivement as far is getting beaten by lewis nd i aint hating on him as i do think hes the best heavyweight around today but to be honest that is wot he known 4

Because he would have been 40 by the time the fight rolled around, a time by which almost every fighter out there is retired already.

This guy about Muhammad ALi. "Self proclaimed best ever but for me Ali just didn’t do enough."

What the fuck else did this guy want Ali to do?? He beat the best in IMO the best era EVER of HW boxing.

Seriously, I'm all for people having their own opinons, but this guy is retarded. I think one of those cocks went a little too far up his ass one time and banged into his brain.

Yeah they have better diets and blah blah blah but when people fought in the old days it was for survival they couldn't go back to their huge mansion with all their electronic bs they spent their money on food for their familes and wondered when their next paycheck was. The mental edge old school fighters had from rough upbringings equals or even surpasses the physical edge modern athletes have.

Vitali doesn't even belong in the top 30 all time. I don't care if he comes back and wins 50 fights in a row against the best in this division, He QUIT against chris byrd with three rounds to go and virtually no way of losing except a forifeit.

The other entrys are respectable but i dont like the order. Marciano was the best because you'd have to fight him for 15 rounds and odds are he'd catch you with a right and the fight would be over. Ali comes second because his great chin and mobility would possibly guide him to a victory over marciano and every other fighter prime for prime. Tyson comes third because on his best night he beats or gives other all time greats a run for their money.

I don't see vitali sticking in a fight with a minor injury when he has marciano or tyson across the ring from him. Ali would have him busted upon in alittle over 3 rounds. The number 4 spot all-time and down the line can be debated over and over but it doesn't matter. After the winner, runner up, and honorable mention, everyone else is just a conversation starter.
Vitali has a record that your heroes never could match (W 35 (34 ko's) L 2 Total 37)hell he got that record knocking boxers out who knocked your heroes out.Don't go bringing up dead boxers and other boxers that you have heard of, they may have been champs of their era but that was then this is now.
As for the fight with byrd read.

Your big Klit fan so your biased in no way has Vitali have wins close to legends name one great win that Vitali had that gets him in top 10 ??

I base this on his record and who he has fought. He has never been ko'd or knocked down.He is good no matter who likes him or dislikes him. Look for yourself he has beaten some good boxers by KO.
