plus RJJ would give him a bigger pay day than kessler right?
Jones is shot if hes confident why not accept a 75% for the winner and 25% for the loser. Jones has no chance its a total mismatch hes shot
Couldn't disagree with you more: It was evident in Jones' decline that he lost allot of ambition for the sport - the desire just wasn't there anymore, and he was getting too old to rest on the laurels of his innate athletic gifts to carry him, and most of the time, dominate opponents.
The Jones that I hear now is a much different one - he sounds ambitious and pumped up for another fight with one of the best out there. You can't tell me that it's inconceivable for Jones to win this fight. It may be a bit unlikely in light of the fact that he's been out of boxing for a spell, but it's certainly not inconceivable.
We've been shown time and time again that most great fighters have one great one left in them. Although it's unfortunate that many fighters tend to take the previous statement to heart and fight well past their best days when they have nothing left, I don't see that being the case for Roy:

1- When he got KO'd against Tarver he got caught with a shot that was a picture perfect left-hook right on the sweet spot that he didn't see coming - I don't know of any fighters that would have been able to take that shot.
2- Johnson crushed him with a right-hand square on the temple and his head hit the canvas pretty hard - another debilitating loss, which looked like a career ender for Jones. But he still had the balls to get back into the ring with Tarver, even though he lost the fight by a UD.

I point out these fights as they seem (most would argue) as the beginning of Jones' decline as preeminent boxer in the sport of sports. However, if it's conceivable for Jones to call out one of the best fighters out there right now, it stands to reason that he doesn't want or expect to leave the fight on his back carried out by a stretcher.
Jones certainly doesn't need the money, he's a very wealthy man who is in no dire need for additional cash. Anything that Jones does from this point on in the sport is purely self-affirming and done to shut up all the naysayers out there.
You may not be able to show an old dog new tricks, but I think Jones has enough in his bag to pull out another big win. And, yes, even in Cardiff against Calzaghe.

I can't believe how many people on this board actually still buy into Roy's bullsh!t. This man wants no part of Calzaghe. If he did he'd say he'd be willing to fight him for free, because he's not worth much more than that. People clown Judah for fighting on ESPN last week but in case everyone forgot, even THEY didn't give a sh!t enough to televise Roy's last fight. There's 2 things that brings money to a fighter; your draw and your leverage. Roy fought in some parking lot last year in Idaho of all places(say goodbye to the draw factor) and last I checked didn't have one major belt or elite p4p status (bye bye leverage). If Roy were to even ask for 25% he'd be outpricing himself. Roy doesn't even want this fight.

roy has beef with the heads of HBO thats why HBO would not consider airing his fights anymore. the beef goes back to when he was commentator for HBO and would not show up at any of their meetings. or rehearsals.

Lets get it on! I want to see this fight, regardless of the outcome. Even though Roy might be shot, you can't ever count a guy out with his handspeed and power.

    Thoughts ??

I never been big on fans disrespecting the anthem of another country, I find it in poor taste. as for the match
I think the fight would be intriguing
