Alot of people like to compare the big welterweights with Tommy Hearns. It has been happening for years, and then when they do not materialize as the next Tommy Hearns people think they were dissapointing. It is hard to be a guy like Tommy Hearns.. Or any great fighter.. Margarito reminds me more of Espana, the guy who beat Meldrick in 1992.

Margarito is a very good fighter I dont think some have or really even know just what he can do. Mayweather wouldnt fight him! Either would Oscar! That boy is a bad bad dude! Can make a fight at 147lbs against anybody and will fight anybody!

...and would more than likely get knocked out by any of those top guys he'd be willing to fight.

Tony wouldnt get knocked out by any of those guys..he's a stylistic nightmare for ANYONE at 147. He'S tall, strong, great chin, and has astounding stamina. He's a power punching machine. He just throws and throws.

And he's fought some tough fighters at ww,more top 10 RING ranked fighters than ANYONE else at the weight and has yet to be beaten. Williams will be a tough tough fight though but once again Tony shows his balls by fighting those no one else wants to fight. HE RUNS FROM NO-ONE and will fight ANYONE,he turned down Cotto to fight the mosre high risk low reward Williams.

And there have been many incidents of high profile fighters not wanting to fight him because they know they are in for a gruelling night:Judah,Mosley,PBF etc etc.

He's not brilliant in any area apart from stamina but he's good in all areas and with his size, that makes him dangerous for anyone at WW. The only guys I see beating him at 147 are Cotto(I'd favour Tony though) and maybe Williams. Mosley and the rest would get swamped and crushed.

I highly doubt he'd crush Mosley. Who are these amazing fighters he's beaten convincingly?

Someone was asking who rates Margarito highly other than Arum...that would be Dan Rafael who calls Margarito the most ducked fighter in the sport. Floyd and Oscar both did run from him. It's not Margaritos fault that he hasn't fought any of the big names, they all run when he becomes the next logical choice to fight. He's a guy that has a big wingspan that could give Floyd some trouble. He also packs a damn good punch. He's extremely unorthodox as well. But back to the issue about boxers ducking people. For all the hype about Margarito being ducked, he tried to duck someone himself...Paul Williams. After Williams put Sharmba Mitchell on the canvas in i believe 4 rounds (i'm not sure if floyd was able to knock him out or not, i can't remember) Paul Williams said to the cameras "I'll fight Margarito, all these other guys are running scared but I'll fight him." Then Margarito tried to dodge that fight as much as possible until he ran into a brick wall. I look for Paul Williams to beat Margarito and start asking Floyd to come out and play. Floyd will duck this match too.

Thats why Tony went to court to fight Arum so he could be allowed to fight Williams INSTEAD of Cotto...for less money and recognition....yeah he really ran into a brick wall there

He didn't need to fight Williams at all but he chose to,to prove how tough he is. And Williams would KTFO ANY of Floyds opponents at 147.
