CC#290 he would destroy Hatton inside 7 or 8 roundOriginally Posted by THE Bigragu
Agreed. It would have to be at 147, tho. And it would NOT be a pretty sight.Originally Posted by THE Bigragu

I've had enough of people making out like floyd mayweather's the best fighter ever. I'll be honest, im english, before last night i had seen hundereds of clips of Mayweather and thought he was on a different level, its only now i realise that he is not undefeatable, far from it...
In england, only the last couple of fights of mayweather have been showed live on tv, when i watched the oscar de la hoya vs mayweather fight last night i realised that against a fighter who is willing to work hard for the whole 12 rounds and with a decent punch, 'pretty boy' would get knocked out, stone cold. His main strength in my opinion is his defense, he hasen't got great power, his speed and slickness is good, but could be canceled out by a fighter who is not willing to give him any room.
thats all i have to say
No, I have a feeling it isn't. Your last sentence (about a fighter not giving him too much room) sounds suspiciously like a lead-in to an argument for Hatton. If it is, don't even go there.Originally Posted by tonythedon
I think you lot have been fooled by mayweather yesterday,
Please Replay the first four or five rounds, of that fight view clearly when de la hoya charges forward with all guns blazing, mayweather is panicking, his defence is good, but he is panicking he is stepping backward straight into the ropes, as a boxer you never do that you let yourself open to punishment.
De la Hoya lasted to round 12 and some people feel he won the fight, because he took Mayweather out of his comfort zone. Now before we slag off Hatton, lets remind ourself the charging forward style is Hattons Style, i dont think Mayweather would be comfortable with hatton if hatton produced a performance similar to against Kostya Tyzyu.
One thing is absolutely certain, Mayweather DID NOT Damage De La Hoya, he did not win by a Massive Margin, he did not give de la hoya a boxing lesson, it was a fairly even contest, i respect the winner, but i also respect De La Hoya, and No this does not make Mayweather the best ever.
To be the best you have to show a variance in style and deal with different types of fights, ie slugfests, brawls, and show heart, Mayweather won that fight on a very tight string, and he showed very little heart just skills. That does not give u greatness in boxing maybe in Golf, maybe in Soccer but not boxing.
Disagree. Off the ropes Mayweather is second only to TOney.Originally Posted by champtyson

BTW, the only thing controversial about last night's decision is that it wasn't a WIDE UD.
mosley is probably the only guy that might give mayweather trouble . as for hatton, margarito, williams. he would just own them.
mayweather would just outbox cotto all fight blocking his body shots and left hands
I was wondering the same thing. People really know how to spin the results after they occur.Originally Posted by 'The Boxer'
I agree with this comment completly, Mayweather gets to much credit, he is not 'the best fighter ever' he fights 1 champion at each weight and thinks hes the best at that weight, if he was the true pound for pound king he would fight every real talant of every weight he passes through. i wish he would go back to 140 pounds where hatton could destory him.Originally Posted by champtyson
