Good debate...but I don't see anyway in hell that Wlad loses this fight.

I also don't see how Brewster can be in worthy shape by the time the fight comes around. Last I heard he had ballooned up a bit.

The thing that pisses me off about boxing fans & sports casters asking who are "the current heavyweight champs of the world"...what does that say for those who asked?

Tell them fwocks to pay closer attention to boxing & they might know.

Its a bettable upset in my eyes. They'll pay closer attention to it when a good personality shows up. F'in jim rome had de la hoya and floyd on a few days before their fight and talked all friendly to them then on mondays show he had some guest host blast their fight (which i maintain was a good one) and say "boxing is dead" and all that good stuff (last time i checked when something dies you dont have to have a funeral for it everyday unless of course you keep giving it a pre-mature burial). They only want to interveiw things that they think people like. They'll shit all over boxing but once a great personality comes along they'll be the first ones in line to interview him. hipocrites. I bet when mma dies off they'll be like "i never saw why it was popular in the first place"

Wlad ain't that good he lost to Brewster then on floor against Williamson he was floored 3 times by Peter who if he'd had more experiance would have stopped him or edged it on points he just was'nt busy enough. Then he beats Byrd a man he has already beaten then beats up on 2 overmatched guys Brock and Austin and everybody thinks he's great i can see him been taken out again by Brewster

He's probably the best out there right now but he's not of a true championship caliber. If vitali didn't have questions about his heart he'd be the guy but i have to say as of right now there is no one dominant heavy. Since there's nothing of historical value to come out of these next few years i think it would be best if we atleast got some interest back in america.

Quite frankly I'm surprised. Klitschko could have easily avoided Brewster and still had many exciting fights for the next few years. Brewster's style is going to be as problematic if not more than it was the first time. In spite of the rust, Lamon has a serious chance of KOing the Ukrainian by doing exact same thing he did last time: put on pressure, survive severe punishment, throw a couple bombs. Wlad's revamped style wasn't built for the kind of pressure Brewster can and will bring and barring a premature stoppage by an overzealous referee (because Brewster will get knocked down) we're in for an exciting fight.

With that being said maybe people will stop bewoeing the heavyweight division. How many exciting fights do you need exactly? And if Briggs and Brewster hold belts at the same time then they should do what the Russians have- fight a couple nobodies, rattle their sabers then go after the other champs THEN fight each other last. I'm kidding about the nobodies, but there are legit American opponents they can at least assure the belts stay with an American, if that's what's most important to you. I'd rather the belt be in the hands of an exciting fighter who truly pursues the best fights possible like Klitschko is already doing. If Brewster takes the belt but maintains that work ethic so be it.

True klitschko is going for the unification bouts (eventho since he said that he fought ray austin and now a recovering brewster who had a detached retina) but i just can't picture him being the next inline of the unified champions. If his next fight (pending his ownership of the belt) isn't against another champ i'm calling shenanigans on his "unification" speeches.

The reason I say Wlad's chin won't fail him again is because it didn't fail him in the first fight....sure he got rocked a couple times but only because he ran out of gas.

Wlad is a smarter fighter now and also considering he was coming off the Sanders loss he was fighting differently.

I see this fight being really onesided and it may actually end earlier than most think.

Bless Lamon Brewster he is a true warrior he fought through the detatched retina vs Lyakhovich and he accepted this fight as his comeback fight....AND he thanked Wlad for the offer stating "he didn't have to give me this oppertunity but I am glad he did"

There can be no loser in this fight great people in there

I think if the fight is exciting (regardless of who wins) it would be a huge plus. Wlad wins he can continue his unification (much to my dismay) or brewster wins and theres an american buzz. Oh well step in the right direction all the same but my moneys on brewster.

I'm sorry, but I don't buy the "run out of gas" theory about the Brewster fight. I know Manny Steward saids that, too, but that's just propaganda. He ran out of gas against Ross Purrity. Corrie Sanders kicked his ass. Against Brewster, he was dominating him, he got complacent, and Brewster checked his chin. His chin failed. He SHOULD be Brewster this time around, but he also should have beat him last time. Brewster has a punchers chance, again, but his chance is less this time. Even if Wlad is dominating him, he'll have the KO in the back of his mind to keep him on point.

....no he couldn't keep his hands up because he threw too many punches in round 4 when he knocked Brewster down.

SeanE I can kind of understand your perception of the fight but ....it's totally wrong.

Does Wlad look knocked silly or does he look tired

Arms down, leaning in, not moving his head, not up on his toes, not fighting at distance....hhhmmmmm those sound like tired issues rather than being HURT

....also if anything would have KO'd Wlad it was going to be the left hook that Brewster landed with 44 seconds left in the round.

It's the same left hook that did this

Then there would be two americans who each hold 1 of the 4 legit belts. Brewster and Briggs have a fight and we have a unified title held by an american.

edit: I'm not saying that i'd celebrate either champions reign but atleast sports shows would quit asking where the heavyweights are at.

Won;t happen. He picked Brewster at this time for a reason.

Reason 1: He's been off for a year.

Reason 2: He just came off a detached retina surgery.

    Reason 3: he's coming off a loss.

Brewster isn't going to win again.

I believ his chin only failed him against Sanders, The other stuff involved stamina as much as chin. Peter was hammering on the back of his head.

I'm with p4p on this one. Vlad has the best chance to unify, and stabalize the heavyweight division.
After the first fight, I thought Brewster had a legitimate shot, but he don't seem to be determined enough. I give Vlad credit for rematching, and taking the risk to avenge his loss. Vlad beats him this time. Brewster, in the same sense as Peter, always has a chance though, with his heavy hands.

Bring on the young boy Chris Arreola!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The boy is exciting! Might not go far, but entertaining to say the least.
