I disagree. You could easily make a case for him being undefeated still. He lost a very close and somewhat debated decision to Rocky Juarez and had 3 point deductions in that fight and I personally felt he just about did enough to win the Freitas fight, messy affair that it was.Originally Posted by Julius Rain
None of the guys at 135 would relish taking him on imo.
They did say on the show that he took this fight on two weeks notice and had to drop over 20 lbs. He was on an IV the night before the fight to rehydrate.Originally Posted by OumaFan
I still hope to see something from him.
Very true, thats why I'd compare him to Wright(not in terms of greatness) but in terms of he's a good fighter with an awkward and sometimes awful to watch style that looks sloppy and etc, but put him in against a top fighter and he can and has beat them. And no fighter wants to take risk of being in an ugly fight that they look bad in and end up losing their title too. No fighter would take the risk of fighting Zahir Raheem. With the fact that yeah he can look bad, but he also wins while doing it. What fighter is gonna take that chance?Originally Posted by Bilbo
Funny how ESPN totally dissed him after the fight thenOriginally Posted by Bilbo

I've gotten so tired of hearing Teddy Atlas talk that I have it on mute most of the time.Originally Posted by Bilbo
It does look like that though, that does make sense, I know he was drained in the Juarez fight, I don't know about the Freitas fight and there his legs and balance looked pretty bad too.
I guess Taylor could be making a run for it.Originally Posted by OumaFan
The Winky fight was pretty good but that was because of Winky pressing the fight.
Raheem isn't that much of a risk. He isn't avoided because he's a huge risk. Winky was avoided because he is a huge risk.
It's that he's completely one dimensional, throws one punch at a time, and has awful balance which makes for terrible fights that nobody likes. He just isn't that good of a fighter. He looked good beating Morales, but that was because Morales was a shell in the ring that night. In his follow up, he goes out and bent over at the hip every fight.
The guy he was fighting was made for a fast, accurate counterpuncher like Zahir Raheem should be. He was wide open and leading with his head, yet Raheem threw nothing as he was coming forward. He would either scoot away or tie up.
Then when Raheem was on the outside and the guy wasn't charging forward, he would lunge in with one punch and tie up. Raheem is not a top fighter imo, any of the champs, with the exception of maybe Julio Diaz, would tear him up.
