Even if Miranda was weight drained had he had a jab, defense, an inside game, a straight that he didn't have to bring from right field, balance, head movement, his hands up, footwork, and fundamentals he would have still won![]()

I've just watched the fight twice again and there's a few things I've noticed.
#1 is Pavlik's chin, very impressive, a good chin comes from seeing the shots coming and I think his amateur experience has come in handy there cos some of the stuff Miranda was throwing was still pretty big.
#2 was the lack of hand speed from Miranda, I think Pavlik just rattled his cage so badly in that first round that everything just went to shit for Edison that night, his legs weren't right, he wasn't focused, and everything just lacked the usual pop from edison, which says a lot for Pavlik, and nicely brings me on to...
#3 Pavlik's power, Wacko keeps telling me this and the bwoy is gotdamn rizight! The way he punches is really weird, reminds me of Tito, just long and laser like and seemingly impossible power for the type of punches he throws. Miranda was fighting with all his might, but just couldn't live with the power and the volume, thats a mighty combination.
While I still think Miranda was probably weight drained, the Miranda that beat Eastman, Gibbs, Green, and took Abe to the wire gets smoked by Kelly Pavlik.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!
I'm not sure you know. Abraham is a very good european fighter like Kessler and he struggled like fwock. If Miranda is stronger at 12 stone, it becomes a very interesting fight. Miranda stil wouldn't be that big name that calzaghe needs on his resume tho.Originally Posted by ICE COLD BOXING
