Portis doesn't fight dogs. He said he grew up around it but Portis doesn't even own a dog. When I lived in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, a lot of my friends had dogs in dogs fight. When I moved to California, a lot of my friends had dogs that fought. Some places it is just a reality, I never really knew the wrongs of it until I kind of took a step back and realized what it was.

And Vick isn't a bad guy. He really isn't, he's a genuine guy.

My dog grew up in Kentucky where she roamed free, she and a gang of others dogs would always hang out. I never saw her get in fights there, but when I moved to California, obviously we couldn't just just let her roam free and trust her to come home every night, so we had to walk her on a leash like the rest of the world does. Well the first day, a German Shepard from across the street bolts out from the house and my Dog and it get into a fight. Neither dog had been trained to fight. But my dog kicked it's ass

I can't take my dog to a dog park because it will fight. Same with my grandpa's dog. To say dog's don't fight, well it's not right. They do fight. But dog fighting is still wrong because they force it.

I think portis and samuels did make themselve look like idiots, i don't agree on dog fighting either. my family use to have lots of dogs 3 adult pitbulls 1 hybrid dog and many puppies. my dog sultan was a mix pitbull with american staffordshire bull terrior, he has always been the dominant dog in our pack and he would mate with the other red nose pit bull and our hybrid dog. When our other 100% pitbull BOBO came, sultan was pissed as fwock every day he would smell bobo in the front yard and trys and trys to get at him while his way in the back and doesn't even see bobo. my dog sultan has a history of fighting i never like the fact he fought and it scared me because i cared for him a lot. but it was in his nature to fight other male dogs for territory and for his females. my dog wasn't that big for a pitbull because his mix with A.S.S.B but he was a bad ass when it came to other adult males, to humans his a great dog though protective of me and friendly to my family.

lyle i got to disagree dogs don't need training to fight, i never taught my dog to fight but his one hell of a fighter. It all depends of what kind of dog is it, pitbulls are bred to fight so is A.S.S.B and some other domesticated dogs out there. but overall i think dog fighting is cruel i can't stand to see them all bleeding while this pricks enjoy them battle eachother. I think because of them pit bulls have bad reputations. i have met the nices pitbulls ever it all depends on the owner of the dog not the type of dog.

Kinda like humans. It is in our nature to fight. We fight for different reasons and when the time comes to do so we know how. On some level every person can fight. Some are trained to fight with persicion and some fight instinctively and only when necessary.

One thing about dogs is that they will often respect the domain of another. They're a bad a** in their own yard and fight tooth nail to protect it. Take that same dog and place him in another yard and he will roll over in surrender to the same dog they had to whoop up on yesterday.

I imagine that is where the training comes in. And to make them fight past their limits... that we agree on.

I'm just saying that's in a dogs nature to fight. Reach down and take a chicken bone from one if you don't believe me lol

Yeah but their careers can also end in one second. If vick gets blindsided one time in the right spot hes down for the count and can't do anything for the rest of his life. Besides pro athletes have to stay in shape to keep making that money. A lot of peole that critisize pro athletes for the money they make (i'm not taking a shot at anyone here im just making a general statement) are out of shape underacheiving slobs that are content with their low place on the totem pole of success. Yeah people work hard in non pro careers but athletes have to go through intense training year round and hope they stay healthy long enough to collect a check.

Raised together they were buddies and often ran the farm with each other. Despite the camaraderie they were extremely jealous of each other when it came to getting love from the family. I can recall several occasion were they had to be ripped from each others clutches over a pat on the head. Usually the only way to get them apart was to spray them with the garden hose.

They were not taught to fight.

I have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier.. one of the most friendly dogs you ever seen.. good with kids, loves people. However if he sees a male dog of the same breed. my dog is off the hook.. his short hair stands str8 up teeth out and he want to kill.. he has never been trained to fight.. its 100% instinct. your 100% correct. different breeds of dogs are more inclined to fight, just like people. We are all wired different.

Just like when someone is eyeballing you pre fight or even at the mall or when your walking .. For some reason that gets my piss hot , I have the uncontrollable urge to take their head off , just sets me off persistent eye contact.

I wanna clarify this alittle bit. I'm not saying all celebrities have tough lives because having millions of dollars and complaining about it is absolute shit. I'm saying that pro athletes have to work much harder for those millions than most people. I was 10 years old as I said before, so I am uncertain what kind of official training they had. Kinderpup, maybe? Doubt it.

My current dog (Mister) is trained. I lay down the law quite well.
