I dont think Taylor is un beatable. Anyone can get knocked out.

One thing is for sure, Pavlik will make Taylor fight. That may not be a good thing for Pavlik though. Taylor hasn't looked good lately, and Pavlik has the tools and physical attributes to win, but, this may be what Taylor needs, is a war to bring him out of his shell. Who knows, I'm from Ohio, as well as you SouthAkron314, and Pavlik, so I like the hometown guy, but I see Taylor pulling it out.
+1 just for a fellow Ohioian.

I agree with you both...thing is though, ICB, Taylor faltered under Hopkins' fists & Wright's jabs...I say that Pavlik makes a huge dent & might be able to drop him.Originally Posted by ICE COLD BOXING

I just feel that Pavlik will back him up like he dose to everybody. People say he is slow ,they are crazy. His right is so accurate. In the slow motion of the fist knock down you can see him slightly change the trajectory of his punch and land clean. He will find a place to put his fists. It doesn't take much work for Pavlik to hurt a man. With who sloppy Taylor has looked and how sharp Pavlik has been through out his whole career. I just don't see any other option than a Pavlik knock out in between the 7th-11 round stoppage. New middle weight champ.

IMO, Taylor hasn't looked good since he beat Raul Marquez a few years back. Each fight since then, he seems like he can't "figure out" his opponents. It seems to me like he can't consistently land clean shots against his foes, so he basically throws punches to keep them on D. Couple that with the fact that he's turning into yet another boxer going for $$ instead of glory, and I think a hungry Pavlik will knock him on his ass. If Taylor was so gun-shy and cautious against Spinks, he'll be cowering in the ring against Pavlik.
When that fight goes down, if Vegas odds are in favor for Taylor, I'm betting serious bucks on Pavlik![]()
Most people thought that miranda would be pavlik..
Now most people think pavlik will beat taylor..
thats a bandwagon if i've ever saw one
I've been watching pavlik a while on.. vs. and espn2 and i always thought he was awsome but knew he wouldnt be able to do that against world class opponents... SUPRISE he did.. pavlik-miranda is the way pavlik always looks against his opponents.. merciless, well-conditioned, focused, gets hit a little too much....
it is very, very hard to favor him against taylor though
the differance between miranda and taylor is night and day..
i knew miranda was overrated and knew a good boxer would smoke him.. and thats what happened..
but taylor GREAT BOXERS havent smoked him.. they couldnt even beat him(5 of 6 judges to taylor against d-hop) so some my be disputed but its clear that taylor can equal THE BEST'S LEVEL..
taylor will not stand in front of pavlik.. pavlik might still knock him out but i'd say that taylor winning a decision would be just as likely.. although i would love pavlik to beat him to give us an exciting champ..
then of course pavlik could fight kessler to see who runs SMW for the next decade
No way, Pavlik is too flat footed and doesn't have game plan options... Even though Pavlik is one unbelievably sober, rangy, loose muscled, relentless 1-2 straight punch aggressor and has a lot of snap in those long punches, I still don't believe he can come right at Taylor... Jermain has a lot of technical flaws but he's still a broad shoulders, hell of a physical 160 pounder, he can move up to light-heavy and still bust you up with a pile driver, train load, 1 ton cement block in yo face, the only man who can really frustrate him is Winky ( or Roy Jones at his best) if they decide to do it again and Jermain gets gun shy like against Spinks early on...
People are looking to much at the miranda win.......taylor has looked horrible recently trying to hard to impress and ko everyone. I would pick pavlik but i guarantee the way my luck is the day i pick against him is the day the old taylor comes back and that old taylor would beat pavlik. Matter of fact he would've beat miranda as well...

I got to know Pavlik was at his best against Miranda and he surely went for it, nobody presses a heavy hitter Pantera against the ropes if they are not aware they can be busted up real bad in return... I just don't see Pavlik hammering Jermain into submission that same way, Winky takes a hell of a punch and he used a careful pressure time against the corners tactic when Jermain took a breather and he was like enough of that in the 12th so, so Pavlik may be knocked out unexpectedly if he uses the same strategy, Jermain slips through and catches Kelly with no reaction time to sustain it... I still say Jermain has to move up to be overpowered, he surely can be out-boxedat 160 but not by Kelly.
Sad thing is Debella is trying to have it at 168. I think Taylor knows he will get beat.At least at 168 he wont loose his belt in a defeat.

The only fight where you can really fault Taylor is the Ouma fight. Ouma was tailor-made for Taylor, and Jermain didn't take advantage of it and look good.Originally Posted by ICE COLD BOXING
I'm not going to fault Taylor for not looking good in his other recent fights. Spinks is an awkward southpaw who didn't want to engage, and Hopkins and Winky are impossible to look good against. No one looks good against Hopkins or Winky.
