In his prime he would beat Kessler and Calzaghe quite comfortably but now they both would beat living hell out of him well maybe not that bad but you get my point.

I agree that the weight issue will be a problem for RJJ, and if it ever does get made, I expect it to either be at a catchweight or at light heavyweight.

It is however a sign of the decline of RJJ as well, can you ever imagine one fighter telling another during RJJ's prime: "If you don't fight me then I'll just have to go and fight RJJ". I reckon that RJJ's ego could get in the way though....does he really want to be someone's rebound fighter? And also, I'm not convinced he'd be willing to go to Copanhagen to fight.
roy's fight in july is @ 168 so if he were to fight kessler in november he'll have plenty of time settle into the weight...amd if he happens to beat kessler in copanhagen and JC doesn't fight him..then

As Hanshaw seems to have floated between SMW and LH I assumed that it would be made at light heavy, but if it is at SMW then have a CC for putting me straight. If he beats Kessler in Copanhagen I guess I'll be smothering my hat in chocolate and chowing down on it. Again. But if he does win in Denmark, then Calzaghe would have to fight him. Period.

If Roy gets to 168, and looks good in his next fight, then I say both camps should go for it. Forget Joe. If Taylor fights Pavlik, and Winky-BHOP is close enough(and rich enough), to demand a rematch, Joe might be screwed.

yeah if roy looks good in july at 168...bhop might be tempted to a rematch and then joe will lose any leverage that he has....

I wouldnt say Kessler would beat the living hell out of him. To me Roy Jones Jounior is the greatest fighter pound for pound fighter of my generation. He used to bob, weave and roll with his hands behind his back. He is too experinced to have some one go in there on beat the hell out of him. If he is going to lose it will probally be by points.

    Perhaps his ego would suffice.
without that he'd probably make Flyweight.
...and imo opinion kessler is overrated and this would be a good test for both of them the winner should fight JC...because i think JC would embarrass kessler...still not totally sold on him..he reminds me of this top contender that was undefeated and the next big until he fought lennonx lewis and his name was michael grant....

Poor Kessler in his last fight he beat up on a tuff human punching bag, now he's possibly going to face the greatest fighter of all time. Thats a BIG differnce, past his prime or not, Roy Jones is STILL Roy Jones.

I think the Kessler may be looking at his as a way to force Calzaghe to fight him. Beating a former P4P great and a future HoF'er in the once great and still very good RJJ will stir up an even bigger demand for the Kessler-Calzaghe Showdown. In my opinion, if Kessler is as good as everyone believes he is (he looks pretty damn impressive from what I've seen) he should be able to handle RJJ, maybe not easily, but he should win.
Kessler - Calzaghe is at best a pick 'em fight, I would in fact give the edge to Calzaghe, but for some reason JC and/or Frank Warren seem fearful of Kessler.

Nuthugger? That's a bit uncalled for..i was simply stating that RJJ v Kessler would be a good test for both of them and the winner should fight JC...how is that nuthugging? cmon i know you're a kessler guy but you jumped the gun on that one....
