Robinson beats Mayweather Roy Jones beats Mayweather and Robinson![]()
at ww--nobody beats robinson
i know. would of loved to seen footage of robinson in action in the division where he was at his bestOriginally Posted by Starr
nobody beats sugar ray come on now, floyd wouldn't last 15 rounds his going to need more than fast feet and hands he can't outboxed sugar ray all night, his going to need heart to brawl, ray would take floyds head off. get serious, floyd is good but he ain't great.
sugar ray is the godfather of boxing, even floyd and roys style is an offspring of sugar rays boxing skills. you can even say ali too is an offspring of rays boxing style.
Not sure about that. I like Jones,my only problem with Jones is the three KO's he suffered. Weak chin, age, I don't know. The difficult part of comparing Robinson to anyone is that there are no known films of his early fights in the 1940's when he was supposed to be at his best. He fought from 1940 to 1943 without a loss until LaMotta beat him. He didn't lose another fight until 1951. 202 total bouts in his career, unheard of today. I guess us boxing fans only wish we could resurrect these guys in their prime and have them fight one another.Originally Posted by artest2000

Roy Jones was a great fighter in his prime. But can we please stop saying he was better than Ray Robinson? Because he wasn't.
You don't think Jones couldn't beat Robinson at Middleweight ?? just because Robinson has better resume imo Jones would still win.Originally Posted by SweetPea
Alright, so I made a mistake and got a sad face. They didn't have the one with a bullet hole in the forehead, otherwise you would have got that one. Give me a break. You'll be old someday.
There is just hardly any.Originally Posted by Starr
Roy Jones Jr. is my favorite fighter EVER. But Montell was giving him troubles he shouldn't have in the first fight. This was similar to Joe Louis vs. Walcott once Louis knew he could hurt Walcott the second fight didn't last long at all. The greats Roy fought weren't the kind of guys who would have given him a really hard fight. I think Roy would have had some difficulties fighting a really fast guy. He kept his hands lower than Robinson. P4P Robinson at WW might even hit as hard as Roy. I think ROy has faster reflexes and speed p4p than anyone, but he comes second technically to a lot of fighters. If Mayweather was bigger and could take Roy's punches I think if he came forward like he did against Zab Judah it would be really hard for Roy because p4p Mayweather would catch him, and Roy is not a great fighter when his back is on the ropes.Originally Posted by artest2000
