Honestly Julius you can think I hate the sport of MMA...maybe I do but in all honesty if it's going to be a hybrid style of fighting you would think some guys would learn a little bit from boxing.

You didn't see Jackson get caught with his hands down...he had his guard up in a good way and he did what you're supposed to do when someone gives you a shot, he took it

but even the best boxers in the world would drop there hands its a style factor, I know that its better to always keep your hands up but a fighter in chucks level don't need the basics, he just got caught even if he had his hands up he would of still get drop by rampages right hook, its plain and simple. plus in mma those gloves are thin u can't really protect urself with your hands up. while you have ur hands up it can even be a worst move to do, since it can block ur vision and before u know it u just got caught.

chuck just got caught last night doesn't mean he doesn't know how to box, roy got caught by tarver but his still one of the best boxers of our era.

some of the boxers that drop their hands use a defense which allows them to keep the lead hand low.

Also some of the boxers that have their hands low use their speed to their advantage or in Vitali Klitschko's case their height.

Chuck had his hands out of position, yeah the gloves are small but even if you are bareknuckle fighting your hands are up to at least take something off of the punch. Jackson had his hands up, he blocked pretty well.

It was a flaw and Jackson took advantage of it...I honestly think Liddell was afraid of him or at least of his power he didn't attack him right away the way he had done to other fighters.

Well I will say this when I saw the weigh in on the tele on Fri. on ESPN and I saw Lidells body shape and all I just couldn't help it notice he had what appeared to be a beer gut I mean his stomach looked bloted and popping out he just looked old and out of shape to me....

yea i'm worried about chuck too, the fight is done and all and he lost, but i'm still worried his a kool cat i hope he doesn't end up like other fighters....a coke head living in the street trying to get a snip

Boxers don't usually have the best physiques but they look "in shape"....as for the protruding gut, perhaps HGH, it makes your internal organs grow and you can see it's effects on body builders especially.


But I think here is the issue
Liddell is a light heavyweight, in boxing that's 175....in UFC that's 205

I never saw RJJ or Hopkins or anyone but James Toney have a gut like that for a top level fight....maybe De la Hoya vs Sturm but he got in better shape his next fight
