The Body Snatcher was a terrific fighter
His knock out of Curry was picture perfect, a great left hook
At his peak he was a very fluent fighter with a craving for the bodyshots.
Too dangerous but also to unknown to take a risk of fighting against

agreed. Simon Brown was a great watch.. when someone mention Simon Brown , I reflect back to 91 , I remember when IBF Champion Simon Brown sparking his best friend then WBC champion Maurice Blocker in the 10th. Brown was very emotional after that fight as he was worried for Blocker condition . Brown also cashed out Terry Norris shortly after.. a thrill fighter win, lose or draw was Brown !

Ted can't help it but ask who do you see following Mike at the #2 position of Jamaican fighters?

    I see it this way:
    Mike McCallum
    O'Neil Bell
    Simon Brown
    Glen Johnson
    Otis Grant

    Richard "Shrimpy" Clarke

    Trevor Berbick

    Glenn Johnson

    Simon Brown

    Lloyd Honeyghan

A series of five monster upsets all by tough Jamaican fighters astounded me. Trevor Berbick’s 1980 ambush KO of Big John Tate in Montreal set the stage for four more shockers. The Welterweight champion Lloyd Honeyghan nicknamed "Ragamuffin" due to his Jamaican roots defeated heavily favored Donald Curry in 1986. In an equally stunning upset, welterweight Kirkland Laing, 43-12-1, beat Roberto Duran in 1982. Then Michael Bentt knocked out heavily favored Tommy Morrison in 1993 in an incredible first round upset. Morrison’s camp had done a terrible job of researching Bentt’s amateur record. Finally, who could forget the great Simon "Mantequilla" Brown, WBC and IBF Welterweight title holder, who KO’d Terry Norris in 1993 for the WBC Light Middleweight Title in Ring Magazine's "Upset of the Year?" All were by Jamaican fighters.
