Now Tarver knows what Roy was talking about after their first match. Roy was listless, barely able to move like he typically did and put in a lackluster performance (even though he won). Putting on so much weight and having to come down has an effect on you. Had Tarver always stayed at light heavy he still would have lost, flat out Hopkins had his number. Hopkins spoke like he'd seen the future and knew what would happen in the fight; Tarver spoke like he'd looked at what he'd done in the past and made a prediction against a fighter he'd never set eyes on. I was leaning toward Hopkins before the fight but it was a lock when I saw Sylvester Stallone vouching for Tarver, saying him having to lose the weight wouldn't have a detrimental effect. The older fighter looked much younger, in fact, had Hopkins chosen, he could have KO'd Tarver but he left him with a smidge of dignity (plus Hopkins is such a defensive fighter he didn't need to risk it). If Tarver asks for a part 2 he will get creamed almost as badly.

mate thats got to be one of the worst excuses ive heard for losing a fight. ive never personally liked tarver. to cockey, ok he beat mr jones. but we all no he was not at his best, past his prime you might say. just to look at tarver in the b-hop fight he was not as lean as he has been in previous fights. he might as well tell the truth he was under prepared after the rocky film and he got schooled by a master boxer B-HOP.
