    Ringwalks and announcements.

First off, Sky have changed their presenter and ring announcer for this event, and basically I reckon the ring announcer does better than the presenter. Anyhow, Lynes is looking really confident there, and although he isn't a KO merchant, looks like he's up against a nobody by his attitude. Being in Morrison's home town of Motherwell, he gets roundly booed however.
Morrison gets a great reception, but has his hood up and is biting his bottom lip. Is that just a habit or a lack of confidence? Can't tell much of that ringwalk, but Morrison had three or four teenagers on the way between his dressing room and the ringwalk, all glad to see big-time boxing back.

    Round 1:

Can't express how good the home atmosphere is! Morrison holding a high guard as Lynes opens up with a few jabs. Morrison launches a hook to the body. He's already looking to send a hook in when Lynes is jabbing. Lynes doesn't want to get too close, and stays on the outside. Long overhand right misses from Lynes. Moorison pushes the gloves open with a jab, then a straight right down the middle. Lynes' jabs are swinging this one so far. Body shots from Lynes. Morrison made to miss his hook by a stinging jab. Body shots from Morrison. Lynes' movement is good too, he looks sharp, and the shorter man is falling short with a few of his punches.

Lynes 10-9 after the first session.

    Round 2:

Classic McCrory quote. "I'm not sure if Morrison's had anything to eat, but he's certainly eating those jabs." Classic. Lynes looking to pick up where he left off, ducking and dodging, and working the jabs. Right hook from Morrison, but Lynes lands a pair of body shots in response. Morrison missing again with the left hook. Body shot from Morrison, and two jabs reply again. Good straight right from Lynes as Morrison came in, and Morrison can't figure this out so far. Lynes with a fine guard, and jabs again. Good right hook from Morrison, but Lynes replies even more jabs. Morrison needs to pit some telling shots in already.

    Lynes 20-18

    Round 3:

Jabs landed stats. Morrison 4 - 25 Lynes. Morrison jabs positively, and then plants two hooks to the body. ANother hook, and the crowd are yelling. Lynes spins to the side, before pinging in a few more jabs. Body shot from Morrison, and a hook upstairs. Lynes ducking off now, but plants in a jab. Morrison trying to duck in and land some short hooks. Morrison misses, and a jab then a straight from Lynes land. Another hook from Lynes, and Morrison looks a little bemused again. Morrison swings and misses. Big right hook from Morrison. Lynes dodges and uppercut then lands a good straight shot. Morrison fading towards the bell.

Morrison's good patch at the start beaten by Lynes' more consistent work. 30-27

    Round 4:

Morrison is still struggling to get on the inside, and when he does he's taking 3 or 4 shots to make it in. Every jab from Lynes is pushing Morrison's head back, but the Scot still seems unfazed. Just noticed a big X on Morrison's shorts. A cunning target perhaps? Lynes still having luck upstairs. Morison shakes his head at another flurry, and as he lands a body shot, takes three short ones from Lynes. Morrison's guard needs to be tighter, as too many shots are finding gaps in those gloves. Good left hook from Morrison, and Lynes lunges into a clinch. Good jab and hook from Morrison, he's improving with every round, but Lynes still edges this one.

    Round 5:

Lynes getting caught a few more times in the last session. Lynes looking to stay out of range, but Morrison looking to close him into a corner, with two consecutive flurries of body shots, and the second with a decent hook up top. Morrison landing body shots, but Lynes is still catching him with jabs on the way in. Lynes loops two consecutive hooks, but fails to connect. Nice uppercut from Morrison. Jab and a straight right from Morrison now. Two more jabs from Morrison, and Lynes clinches again. Uppercut misses from Morrison, and a jab lands for Lynes. Morrison getting a little scrappy, and caught two jabs on the way in. Left hook from Morrison, and another, before he covers up as Lynes counters.

Morrison's first round on my card, Lynes leads 49-46

    Round 6:

They trade jabs early doors, but Morrison's one to Lynes' three. Morrison with a decent hook, and is finding his range with a straight right. They square up on the ropes, and Lynes answers pungh for punch in the hooks. Body shots from Morrison land. Morrison covers up for a hook, but then gets knocked back by a jab. And another. Hard shot catches Morrison to the body on the wat in. Morrison with a body shot, but takes a jab and a hook for his trouble. Morrison's gumshield pops out for the second time. Lynes frustrating Morrison again. Morrison lands body shots, but Lynes is sending back hooks of his own.

    Lynes regains the initiative.

    Round 7:

Morrison opens up some bodyshots. Lynes replies in kind. Short right from Morrison, as Lynes loops a left hook. Lynes now falls short a little with that jab. Morrison still struggling to get in though, and a good left hook, right hook from Lynes. Lynes gets drawn into trading, and while Morrison lands two shots downstairs, Lynes lands three short ones to the head. Lynes looking forward, coming into it a bit with those hard straight rights. Morrison with a body shot, but covers up quickly, learning finally.

Lynes is dominating this fight, as the experience proves crucial.

    Round 8:

Morrison gets near with a hook, but is piling forward, and getting caught with jabs on the way in. Body shot from Morrison, but the support noise is dwindling, and with good cause. Good body shot then a straight left from Morrison lands. Lynes' jabbing is proving decisive. Lynes jabs, and gets countered himself this time. Lynes pings out two jabs. Body shot from Morrison, but Lynes seems to be pushing that jab with a little less zip now. Hook from Morrison as Lynes comes forward.

Morrison looks dishearened now. Even the corner are reading the riot act to him.

    Round 9:

Morrison can't find his way inside, but Morrison is going to need something big. Lynes looking confident behind his jab, and gets caught with a firm straight right, that doesn't even fluster Lynes. Two lefts to the body from Morrison, but Lynes can still come back with his jabs, then pushes Morrison back with a pair of jooks. Lynes coming forward again, not content with fighting on the counter. Morrison slumps into a clinch, and it doesn't look like he's playing rope a dope in there.

    Lynes once again.
    89-82
