If Judah could make 140 (and I don't think he can), then I would pick him to beat Hatton.
If Hatton comes up to 147, he's not going to fight someone like Judah (who is barely in the Top 10), he's going to go after a big money fight.

Alone again!....It's so true that Zab is done, i can't see him winning another big fight.Originally Posted by CutMeMick

Mosley, Cotto again? I don't think so. Hatton would overpower him in any match up.
Judah is a name but not a big name. Judah is seen as a good fighter with quick hands and decent power. But to say he is a hot commodity after losing to Baldomir and Tsyzu and Cotto would be stretching things. He still is on the losing end of most of his big fights. If he fights Margarito he will probably be on the losing end there also.Originally Posted by TYSONBRUNO
I do, it would be a great fight but when Cotto fights with guys who like to pressure him going forward he fights beautifully backwards. Cotto like Hatton want fights to be action packed but if the other guy comes forward is like a Kid pitching a MLB player straight to the plate at 75mph. Hatton digs to the body on a consistent basis,no one likes that and Zab hasn't been great when under pressure. However,Hatton would be open to Judah's uppercuts and straight left hand. It's a question of whether Hatton could tke Judah's punches and after taking Kostya's,I think he could. I'd favour Hatton via stoppage. He'd be on the inside, roughing Judah up,banging to the body.
I don't see this fight being made though and I don't find it all that exciting for some reason.
Ya, I agree, there's no reason for this fight to be made, especially from Hatton's point of view. If Hatton wants to take on a welterweight, he's going to go for a bigger payday than Zab can provide.Originally Posted by El Gamo
Zab will likely fight a few easy opponents that he can destroy, and then a year or so down the road, I could see him fighting another NY fighter, like Luis Callazo, maybe even Malignaggi if he ever gets to 147. Those fights would be marketable in NY and would be a good main event for an HBO Boxing After Dark card or a Showtime card.
Exactly bro. I don't see the top tier WW fighting Zab. Maybe the loser of the PW TONY fight may fight him at some point? I like the NY idea too bro,Zab v Paulie/Collazo would be good style match upsOriginally Posted by SweetPea
Zab will still be able to get fights and some decent paydays. I've never really thought about someone like the Williams/Margarito loser that you suggested, but that makes sense, I could see it happening. A third fight with Cory Spinks is also a possibility.Originally Posted by El Gamo
Zab's got a big name, he can be in exciting fights when he has an agressive opponent, and he's from New York City, which always helps.
I kinda laugh at the people on the board who are saying "Zab should retire" or "Zab's done." I don't get how Zab should retire, just because he lost to Miguel Cotto. How many fighters out there can beat Cotto at 147? Not many.
Zab has one bad loss, to Baldomir. Other than that, he's lost to Tszyu, Cory Spinks (who he KO'd in the rematch), Floyd Mayweather, and Miguel Cotto. Those are some pretty big names.
And he didn't get embarrassed by either Floyd or Cotto, he was competitive with both of them.
Hatton will destroy Judah. Pointless fight.
Hatton didn't destroy either Collazo or Urango. Do you think both of those fighters are much better than Zab Judah?Originally Posted by Hughesd
Yea,Cunningham,Spinks trainer, mentioned a third Zab fight. That wouldnt be too bad. I don't think Zab should retire but I do think he needs a new corner. If you look at his losses,he was favourite in 3(Spinks,KT,Baldo) of those fights and alot of people thought he would beat Cotto too. Personally,I think the loser of the Tony PW fight would beat up on him real bad too but it would be an oppertunity for him to re establsh himself as a serious contender.Originally Posted by SweetPea
If I were Zab,I'd seriously re consider going back to 140,ifI could make the weight. His record at WW is very poor and although he has fought Cotto,Floyd Spinks,Baldo, those are either guys coming up from 140 OR the feather fisted Baldo. He has yet to face a big strong WW and if he does,he could get destroyed!
A cintron fight would also be a good match up.(Id favour Kermit) Zab still has plenty of options(Paulie/Luis,PW/Tyon loser,Cintron etc) so no need for him to retire
I really doubt Zab could get back down to 140. He was in great, great shape for the Cotto fight, and he still weighed 145. To get to 140, he'd have to be in perfect shape, and he'd still have to starve off several pounds.
I think he'd be drained at 140.
