HBO Legendary nights, new shows planned for 2008!!

Maybe just because of the hype that surrounded the build up

Yeah I remember that. Man that fight sucked. They still did a good job though.

Speaking of Trinidad, they'll most likely have his fight against Hoplins. Even thought it was pretty one sided, it was considered a big upset at the time. Trinidad was considered unbeatable before this fight.

I'm pretty sure they only show HBO fights so Castillo - Corrales is out. But you will most likely see the Barrera - Moralez - Paquiao - Marquez fights some time in the show.

Legendary Night Series To Continue In 2008

20.06.07 - In 2003, HBO Sports introduced “Legendary Nights,” a 12-part documentary series showcasing 12 of the most memorable fights that have appeared on HBO. The series notched a Sports Emmy for “Outstanding Edited Sports Series/Anthology..”

Ross Greenburg, president of HBO Sports, and Rick Bernstein, executive producer of HBO Sports, announced today that they will revisit the series next year.

In the 2008 programming year, HBO Sports will return with a fresh six-week installment of “Legendary Nights.” The six new shows will be hand-picked from the fight library of HBO, which is in its 35th year of televising the best in professional boxing.

They're gonna be awesome. As anyone who has HBO knows this series is very well done. We can only guess which fights are gonna be covered. I'm guessing Barrera-Morales, Hopkins-Taylor, Pacquaio-Marquez.

I wouldnt call Hopkins-Taylor too legendary,

both were boring

Legendary doesn't need to mean "great fight" it means the surroundings, the atmosphere, the outcome and the aftermath. Such as Bowe GOlata.

Even then though, I don't think it was that huge a deal ,

I mean Leonard vs Hagler was not a great fight but it was a big deal beacause of the rivalry between the 2 fighters, leonard coming out of retirement, all the history between them..

But Hopkins Taylor, it just didn't seem like that interesting a situation to me, the only notable things were that the scoring was controvertial and it was Bernards first losses in years.

Considering it'll more than likely be fights HBO had shown and with fighters who are retired or nearing the end of their career (because you can't say for certain what a fight did to a fighter when they are still fighting, like no one knew Meldrick Taylor was 100% done after Chavez beat him) these are my picks:
