My dad, little brother and myself were all crowded around for 12 rounds of agony. I hate to say it, but I couldn't stand Camacho after that fight, and I was only 10 or 11 at the time. I'm in the minority over here so when there's a big PR vs Mex fight it's a huge deal for me. When we lose I hear about if for awhile.

P.S. I put in a petition for all PR's to disown Cintron!
I remember the Camacho fight. I was 9 years old. That was the very 1st fight I ever saw. It was a huge build up!! It was a mega fight. But after the fight.....everyone was disapointed when Camacho didn't show heart by trying to make it a fight. He just ran and ran. It was boring. I'm glad Tito Trinidad showed him who was the true Puerto Rican.

Before the Zab fight,I'd say TOny was the favourite but now I'd say it was 0-50/55-45 to Tony.

They are easily the 2 best WW imo.
I guess that your assuming Floyd is retired or not an active WW so doesn't count for the time being.. Cotto is one of the 2 best right now by that measure.. But Margarito is nowhere near Mosleys class, hes 3rd or 4th by a stride. you'll see, if he manages to beat PW, Cotto will crush him. I think Clottey is a better WW as well, who would have beat Tony if he didn't injure his hand...

    Sanchez-Gomez

Few events stir up emotions down here like a good Puerto Rican - Mexican championship fight.
    One more to add Chavez-Camacho

I never saw Trinidad/Vargas as Puerto Rico vs. Mexico. Isn't Vargas american? My mom is from Guatemala and she considers herself Guatemalan, but I am american. It isn't like I represent Guatemala if I was born in the USA and lived here my whole life.

I thought about that when I was including Vargas on the list, 'cause technically you're right.... he's basically Mexican-American. But I also remember vividly one of Vargas' pre-fight quotes, specifically when he said (alluding to DLH's fight with Tito): "This Mexican won't run." And Vargas does seem to embrace his Mexican roots.
