He wasn't really a banger. He was just facing a lot of bums that were easy to knock out. Now he faces bums that are a little harder to knock out. So his knock out percentage has gone down.Originally Posted by ICE COLD BOXING

He was a banger in his day, he hit extremmly hard... when he was around 15 he was told by doctors he would never be able to turn pro because he hit 'so had for his weight' he would be plauged by hand troulbes, they were half right, he would be plauged by hand troubles, but it still hasn't stopped him being one of, if not the best SMW of all time.Originally Posted by Violent Demise

i always used to feel that Calzaghe never got the credit he deserved he should have been taken international years ago every fight i watchedi just felt bad for him.IMO he deserved a big pay day
But Good old Franky boy knows best huh
I lost respect for Calzaghe after the Lacy fight not for his boxing ability just his stupid fucking showboating it was like he thought cus he had americans watching he cud behave like a bit of an idiot IMO and that just dont do it fo me
i think the punching/slapping is due to hand breaks
He slapped before he broke his hands
I wouldn't agree with you that he was such a banger in his younger days, because a lot of his stoppages came more because of his swamping the opponents with punches, rather than straight knockout power. I think it was the Tyrone Jackson fight was where Jackson was actually mocking Calzaghe and standing there arms down as Calzaghe threw 9 or 10 unanswered, and was goofing off, and when the ref stepped in Jackson went ballistic cause he wasn't in trouble and was taking all that Calzaghe threw with ease. But then again, Calzaghe was one of only six of his opponents who managed to stop him, despite him losing 32 fights in all.Originally Posted by ICE COLD BOXING
Maybe not the elite in terms of power, but Calzaghe could hit hard imo, i have seen most of his fights, and has left alot of opponents in a bad way.Originally Posted by superheavyrhun

IF you have any videos from his amateur days could you send them on, cause I've only been able to find one from his ABA days, where he first broke one of his hands. Where did you find the videos btw?Originally Posted by TYSONMAYWEATHER
