as of yet hattons has beaten one p4per, tszyu.. castillo was on noones p4p list coming into that fight!

Isreal vasquez may not of been top 10 p4p but he was damn close to it imo... dont forget as well, rafa has been the undisputed champ at 2 weights, winning at the second weight convincingly - whislt hatton beat tszyu (great!) beat mausa then moved up a weight to win by the skin of his teath only to vacate and move back down to fight another chump...

Rafa is giving Isreal another crack at his old belt, whislt he may of stopped him once thats not telling that he will again, it was close on all ards at the time vaquez coldn't go on and rafa had been put on his ass... a broken nose can real scew up any fight - (see barrera jurez I then watch II)

the question is would Hatton be #1 P4P if he won...
Mayweather is already P4P #1.. i dont see your point.. of course he is suppose to win rather easy.. he is #1..
I saw the question in the poll and answered it and just threw a little side thought into it...sorry if more than one question at a time confuses the thread wasn't my intention...my point is floyd seems to be pfp best as a reluctant choice by many not cause people are giving him credit for the job he does in the ring......it's always if this would've happend or that would've happened he would've lost etc....not that he is clearly the best pfp so it seems strange to me that if hatton wins we consider him automaticly pfp best...oops i'm doing it again sorry.

No. He'd be jumping too many spots on the list, and leapfrogging too many fighters that are probably more deserving of the p4p title. Just MO, of course.

No, because Marquez might jump into #1 if he beats Vasquez in the rematch, if he losses then yes Hatton could be p4p.

I really don't see why beating Vasquez again would put him any higher than he is already. Vasquez ain't even in the top 20 p4p.

It's like saying Pacman definitely goes to number 1 if he beats Morales for a third time.

Marquez beat Mark Johnson who was 40-1 and considered a p4p fighter by Ring magazine. He beat Tim Austin who undefeated and regarded as the best Bantamweight at the time. He beat Isreal Vazquez who was Ring magazine Junior Featherweight champion (and had been on a hell of a roll). Marquez knocked out Johnson, Austin, Silence Mabuza, Heriberto Ruiz and Mauricio Pastrana (2 division champion). Fighters who had long careers (except Mabuza) and never been stopped before until they ran into Marquez. Marquez is the p4p number 1 in waiting.

I think Hatton would be a much larger underdog than Florida was. That game was such easy money I couldn't believe Florida was the dog. I think in this analogy FMJ represents Florida fast, athletic, flashy and Hatton resembles Ohio State they like to rough you up on the inside and wear you down.

I think it takes more then just beating the P4P #1 one fight to make you #1. Though it does make him closer to the top.

I know I was warned about this when I first started posting on here but.

Hatton needs to be careful on what he says about Mayweather. There is a difference between trying to lure a man out to fight you and just plain old Pi**ing him off.

That seems to be what Hatton is doing to Mayweather by insulting him. I know Ricky is just trying to secure a fight but.

Last thing you want is a man like Floyd Mayweather looking for you with the intentions of hurting you.

Kind of like the Great White Hype. Terry Conklin was doing just fine until James Roper thought Terry was trying to embaress him.

I know it was just a movie but it was the best example I could come up with at the moment

PAC and R Marquez need to fight each other to seal the P4P#1 IMO...

IF Hatton wins, is he #1
Hatton's never been undisputed junior welter weight champion, you need to have all the belts to be undisputed, he's never done that, he WAS the unified champion when he had the IBF/WBA titles, but never undisputed, Judah WAS the undisputed welterweight champion cause he had the WBC/IBF/WBA, as do all undisputed champions, same goes for Lewis, he never was undisputed heavyweight champion

Is Hatton #1 P4P if he beats Mayweather

    The answer is NO.

If Hatton beats Gatti, Baldomir, Judah, ODLH and PBF ... he still wouldn't be no.1 p4p.

Hatton would be no.1 p4p best if he beats P.Williams, Margarito, Mosley, Cotto, and prospect Andre Berto.

IF Hatton beats Mayweather (that's a big IF by the way) then there's a big argument he's p4p #1, that's the 3rd guy he'll have beaten who has been top or top 5 in the list (Tszyu and Castillo). The only other fighters in contention are Winky and Pac, I think Winky is ahead or Pacman at the minute. Rafael Marquez is shit hot but still hasn't got the big name on his record. Vazquez is good but he's not elite, neither is Mabuza. I think Marquez The talents there though in spades, not hard to see why he's up there. Winky has the names and the pedigree though and so does Manny. Luckily Rafael is in a STACKED division at the minute, Ponce De leon, Caballero, Molitor and up and coming Bernard Dunne, there's some incredible fights to be made, and then there's 126 as well, exciting times as always in the lighter weights.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!

Mark Johnson was 40-1 and still in his prime when Marquez beat him. Tim Austin was also undefeated and considered the best Bantamweight at that time. Isreal Vazquez is currently in his prime. Marquez beat him. Mauricio Pastrana was not in his prime when Marquez beat him. But he was a 2 division champion who had never been stopped until he faced Marquez. Hatton beat big names in Tszyu and Castillo. But it is quite clear neither was no longer in his prime. Both also had stretches of inactivity before they faced Hatton. Marquez is the # 1 p4p in waiting. I might consider Pac if he again destroys Barrera.
