Well without wishing to side with the hated outcast who made this thread although I'd enjoy watching this fight, if Floyd does come back I want it to be against a genuine 147 lb Contender.

If Ricky wants to step and try his mettle at a proper weight instead of choosing always to remain a junior then kudos to him.

If not then I hope Floyd just tells him to fuck off until he's grown some bollocks.

It's 147 lbs or nothing as far as I'm concerned.

I agree with that. I know this may not be popular but my thing is outside of mosley, one of these guys fighting pbf right now is just as good as another, now i know there are a lot of people who have thier particular favorite and usually thinks his guy is the one to beat him, but i really don't think any of them can hell not even mosley but i think he has the best shot, but i would never say i don't want to see any of them try and don't want to see any of them. I'd like to see him beat all of them just to hear what people would say to discredit him then, the same ole stuff is boring. I'm not what you would call a pbf fan but i do love boxing and right now he is the best at it.

I sincerely hope that this fight happens! Boxing really needs fights that the average person can grasp and get behind!
Ricky Hatton the working class hero of Manchester, England versus the superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr. The pound for pound best boxer on the planet!
The weight is the question over RH, but everyone knows that if he wants to be recognised as a great, he will have to deliver the goods at welter. PBF is exceptional, although I felt that when De La Hoya put him under pressure he looked in trouble. DLH ran out of steam. RH won't! DLH is great, but he isn't in his prime. RH is fitter, faster, and he is in his prime. Weight issue aside, I tend to agree with RH on the point he made after the Castillo fight "I believe my style is Floyd's worst nightmare".
Either way if this fight happens I believe that it will be to be one to remember!

I muist admit I am a Floyd fan, any man who talks shit and fails to back it up really annoy the crap out of me, however a man who talks shit and backs it up is kind of a god in my eyes, and Floyd definitely backs his shit up.

Agree with Wiz, Floyd absolutely beat Hoya to the punch in 8 to 4 or 9 to 3 rounds, hurt him and Oscar couldn't keep up with a fast pace, Ricky had Louie on the floor seconds into the fight and very much on the defensive exception for a flurry in the 10th that had the Manchester fighter hurt, Louie was slick and tough but lost a close decison on the judges, HBO Lederman's card and most of the viewers, so this topic is a lil bit absurd yeah. Hatton vs Mayweather is still not the best match-up out there and Ricky is handpicked by Floyd to avoid guys like Miguel, Shane and Tony, I'll give cnote111 dat!

    bwoss.

Totally agree 100%...but I don't think that the fight's gonna materialize at no 140lbs if that's what Hatton's hoping.

I honestly believe that Floyd would be incapable of pulling that weight again & also don't see the point in dropping back down.

I say all of the following not being a fan of Floyd's at all. People keep saying he can make 140 easy...and you know what...Floyd probably could. But he wont...PERIOD. That would mean that Floyd is giving in to Ricky's demands and he 1) has way to big an ego for that and 2) he shouldn't have to go to 140...he is the current p4p king, he is a bigger name than Ricky...so Hatton and his team have really no grounds to be calling shots. So that would mean that the fight would take place at 147...and anyone who thinks Ricky Hatton can beat Floyd at that weight needs to get their heads examined. Hatton doesn't have the size, strength, or stamina to compete at that weight against one of the best conditioned and skilled boxers in the sport...PERIOD. I don't say any of this as a Hatton hater or a Floyd jocker...but those are the facts. So ultimately....unless this fight takes place at 140...which it almost certainly wont...it will be a boring and one sided fight.

Im new to this forum, in terms of posting anyway, but ive been reading the posts on here for some time now and this is by far the most rediculous post i have ever read. So much so that i had to reply just to add my general disbelief at the original poster. But more importantly to respond to those more sensible posters who seem to think that any fight between pbf and hatton has to take place at 147 and that if it did it would be a very quick and according to some "one sided" and even "boring". Now first off, how could this fight ever be boring at 147? If hatton wins, shock horror!, then we have an exciting fight no matter what, because pbf will have the cocky attitude beaten out of him and the underdog and working class hero will have been victorious. Even if hatton loses, which most think he will, you'l still get to see pretty boy floyd knock out an unbeaten, pound for pound, 2 weight world champion and cement his evergrowing reputation as the best boxer of the past 20 or so years. But secondly, and more importantly, why wouldnt pbf fight hatton at 140? and why shouldnt he? Floyd being the arrogant sob that he is, would surely get alot more respect by beating hatton at a weight that they both fighters are more comfortable at. Finally, id just like to say that hatton will have a much longer preperation time for a 147 match up against pbf and will (hopefully) be in the best shape of his life and be conditioned properly to fight a fighter that in my opinion suits him down to the ground. Look at the castillo-pbf fights and ask yourself who (out of the current contenders) is most likely and most capable of producing a performance like that against pbf. If hatton gets up in floyds face and closes the ring off fast he can do what castillo did and at least take it to the wire and if he connects like he connected against (an albeit older) castillo then pbf would at least have problems. But will it be boring? one sided? not cared about!!?? i really dont think so...

ps to the guy who doesnt like the booing at national anthems, dont take it personally as anti american or anything, british fans would boo at the kazhakstan national anthem if hatton or whoever british was fighting one of them...its more pantomime booing than anything, not vehemenant hatred

obviously a troll post but I'll bite ... I want to see this fight. I want to see how Mayweather handles Hatton's pressure and still prove that great boxing skills are what will do it. I want Hatton to taste his limits more fully than he did against Callazo. And if that's not the way it goes, I want to see the opposite - I want to see how Hatton steamrolls in to nullify the boxing skills of Mayweather.

Whatever happens ... we have two undefeated boxers each at the top of their game, very different styles, and each wanting to be considered the best. I know that there are some who think the fight will prove nothing, but I don't agree.
