That's why I went for Rees on points as my Joker pick for the prediction comp. Yah, I been yelling it from the rooftops ever since.

And anyway, I'm sure Frank was glad to have a reason to show M'baye the door because he's not exactly good for business with that style.

Well when I first heard about the fight, I felt it was Warren's way of getting the belt of Mbaye onto another of his fighters so he still had a world champion, but no Mbaye. Rees ruined him, and it was a special performance. I hope they don't go for unification with Witter yet. Give him time to establish himself going 12 rounds and defending.

I was confused to why Warren signed Mbaye in the first place. Basing an average at best Frenchman in Bolton were he has no fans his hardly a money spinner.

Surely give Rees a few months to grow about four inches and he can fight with Witter is also neccessary I feel. . Rees winning was much better for Warren the an M'baye win, also because he's already got plenty of fighters fighting out of south Wales.

I know, 3 world champions on the same bill at the millenium will surely be a sell out?

Well lets look at the circumstances surrounding that:

    - Ricky Hatton had split, somewhat acrimoniously, from Frank Warren
    - Ricky then won the WBA strap from Carlos Maussa
    - M'Baye was the WBA mandatory
    - M'Baye was signed up by Frank Warren
    - WBA said that Ricky must fight his mandatory or vacate
    - Ricky vacated
    - Frank now had control of one portion of the 140lb division and also managed to take it from Ricky Hatton

Wether you feel it's petulance or sharp practive you gotta admit Franks slick...

People forget just how hard Frank made it for Ricky at that time. Signing up exclusive deals with the MEN arena etc...

That's just petty shit though. Signing up a guy who will make you very little money just to piss off the guy that left you high and dry.

Yes, I know that we've probably been over this, however I've finally dragged my candy ass out of the pastand watched Rees v M'baye for the full period, and it's obvious to me that Rees was way ahead going down the stretch. I think he might do alright for a while up there, but if he is as committed as he claims to be, eventually he'll take a few steps down and fight at the lower weights.

How many times do you think Rees will defend the title if any? I think he is way to small for the divison and any of the top LW will fancy getting in the ring will him.

Surely they can understand that funerals are emotional affairs and especially in the valleys where extended families tend to be quite close, then people often have issues with their cousins, uncles nephews etc. Seems a little bit harsh, but perhaps I don't know the full story.

Well i can totally understand, at my grandmothers funeral i was openly insulted by 2 neighbours three times. Now i wouldn be the aggresive type but with all the emotion flyin around and the fact i had been provoked, i had to leave MY house in order to avoid assaulting on of them.

Hmm.. I don't know exactly what happened but it couldn't of just been some silly half-hearted altercation between pissed up family members cause he was spared a prison sentence by the skin of his teeth.

I heard Rees would be defending his WBA Super-Lightweight title on the Calzaghe vs Kessler bill. Any news on the opponent?
