Bad matchup. Tito doesn't have the power at 170 to KO Jones; Roy will just hang back and pot shot the whole night. Whole thing would have been a snoozer even in their primes.

Wow I can't believe the overwheleming disapproval of this. I actually want to see it. Would you prefer one of them to get KO'ed by a nobody? If either man loses, it is no shame to his career. They're not what they once were, I agree. However I wouldn't cast this aside. It's a spectacle if nothing else. If Tito wins this it could relaunch his career. In fact, if he won this people would be calling for him to fight Mayweather.

I hate the reaction some of you have towards Roy. I know it's because he was unstoppable, and now he's not. But that's bound to happen at some point. What should deprive him of the oppertunity to continue doing what he loves?

There was a point in time when I thought Roy Jones can't be beaten. How i wish to see him fight again like the old days.

I'll watch it, but I can't really say that I can't wait for this to happen.

I'd almost seriously rather see Ali and Frazier get it on for a 4th time than this has-been extravaganza.

I saw RJJ's most recent fight with Hanshaw and then went to the post fight interview. I hope Roy is back with as much vigor as he appeared to have that night. Maybe it was just the atmosphere of being at the fight but I really felt he was looking more like his old self.

Tito's got BALLS!!! He ain't afraid of nobody. I love it. Bigger or smaller, he don't care. This fight favors RJJ in every aspect. Even though I wish Tito knocks him out!
We can't say that Tito doesn't have the power at 170 because we haven't seen him fight there. We know jones has unbelieveable speed at that weight. If Tito has power, all it takes is one good punch like Tarver did and Jones is history. But if Roy Jones really wants to, he could make Tito look silly as did Wright. This fight depends on which RJJ shows up. If the RJJ we know shows up, it's gonna be an easy fight for RJJ, If the same RJJ shows up that fought Tarver, wow! it's would turn out to be a great night for boxing and for Tito fans.

I think this fight will go to RJJ. He has all the advantage. Trinidad is a great fighter but he will have problem with his power punch as he will be going up in weight. Sometimes, when a boxer goes up in weight, his knock out effectiveness lessens.Besides, there are doubts as to his knock out power. I just don't know if the rumor is true. I have seen some of Trinidad's fights before and I consider him as one of boxing greats.

Tito at 160 and Up did not had the same Power as 154 and 147. Check out the Mayorga fight as well the Joppy and Chariffi he won by TKO with accumulation of punches well Joppy was already damage goods do to the previous KoDowns. at 70 I don fell he will have much of that. If Tito is so Firend of Winky I will ask him to Train him and show a little defense

I agree. Tito did have to land alot of punches to TKO them, but he did though. Tito is well known for landing beatiful clean shots to the head especially with his left hook. He uses his left hook as a counter punch with great effectiveness. He is very accurate with his punches and lands them at a high percentage with some awesome power behind every punch he throws not to forget his superb condition he brings to his fights. Vargas (154) fell with Tito's first punch but was able to survive and gave a hell of a fight. David Reid (154) took Titos punches for a while before they started to become effective. Yori Boy Campas (147) took many of Trinidads punches before he got TKO'd. Oba Carr (147) did the same as well and lasted 8 rounds.

What I'm trying to tell you is that most of Tito's Ko's have come by accumalitive punches leading to that killer left hook. He constantly puts pressure on his opponents until they begin to drop there guard at a frequent pace. When that happens......bye bye because that is when Tito is at his best.

Now I'm a Tito fan and I admit he's got plenty of weaknesses as well. 1) weak chin. 2) easy to beat if you box him smartly and use your jab for 12 rounds to keep him off of you. 3) fails to make adjustments in the fight when he isn't able to land his punches.

My PREDICTION: It's all a matter of what Tito has and what RJJ shows up. If Tito Trinidad has a least some kind of power at 170, he could be dangerous for RJJ. WHY? As great and exciting as we say RJJ is, he a boxer who loves to drop his guard at times in the fight. Especially mid-way through fights. That is not the right thing to do when you're in there with TITO because Tito is not a dumb fighter, he is waiting for you to drop your guard. Hopkins and Wright proved it by keeping their guards up for 12 rounds and being able to dominate Tito. *** If Tito's power doesn't do anything to RJJ, it's gonna be a long night for Tito and for us boxing fans. I'm picking the underdog Tito on this one w/ a KO in the mid to late rounds. I truly believe Tito picked and signed this fight for a reason. He's not coming back to boxing to make a fool of himself, Something is telling me he has tested his power at 170 and he is satisfied and yet confident coming into this fight. Why else would he take this fight? If my power is the reason I am who I am, Why would I go into a fight w/o my number 1 ability? Maybe he was made for 168 and we never knew it.....I guess we will have to wait and see.

To be honest I expect Roy to KO Trinidad....he really should he's been more active he's quicker even in his old age but this fight either should have happened years ago or not at all.

Roy could just as easily fight Joe Calzaghe or Chad Dawson

Sad thing is that if it is this close to being signed, or is signed, then we can all forget Roy and his promoter's talk about facing Zolt Erdei or more importantly Glen Johnson in November. NO WAY would they take such a risky fight when a mega fight pay day with Tito is just around the corner. DAMNIT!!! I'll watch the Tito vs. Jones fight, but there are so many better fights out there for both of these guys.
Frankly if Tito is wanting to fight again, why is he taking such a risk for so little profit. A rematch with Oscar would draw more money.
