Hopkins fined $200,000 for weigh-in scuffle with Wright

IS it the Nevada State Athletic Commision that dishes out the fines? If it is then the rules should be hard and fast, otherwise Mayorga would be getting slapped with fines all the time. Maybe the rules only apply for the weigh-ins. Either way the whole thing is ridiculous.

I genuinely think Ricardo has a grudge for some if not all of the fighters he faces! And he is a genuine SOB. Fair enough,you could argue that he should be fined too but at least Ricardo is genuine. This was staged all the way with Hopkins even admitting in an interview that he knew it would help PPV sales(I cna't remember where the link is).

Not to hijack the thread, but is anyone planning on fining Mayorga for all the b.s. he does He should be fined for talking about people's families IMHO, not to mention b#tch slapping people who are sitting down.

thats what i don't get. mayorga does all that S*** and gets nothing. hopkins pushes wright abit and gets fined. thats just being unfair and greedy

When you are famous, small things become big things.Nothing to gain from Mayorga fining.It will no prove anything for them.If they fine hopkins, it becomes an issue.

I think the fine is well deserved but if they are going to fine Hopkins how about a fine for Mayorga?...All of these guys should get fines once they decide to act up and use their hands or even go out of bounds with insults....You don't pay you don't fight
