Ali wouldnt have torn apart mentally the 90's Foreman, George was to damn smart and seasoned. he would beat the hell out of George in the 90's but he would have had to kill him to stop him.

I guess and the end of the day my ladder statement is not the best reference, only because if Ali didnt beat him in Zaire George would have never humbled himself and grew to be the great man he was in his later years. At that time George had a will and determination that wouldnt have succumbed to the wiles of Ali, on the contrary I see Georges antics at press conferences really pissing Ali off, George would be eating burgers and telling Ali to get him a sandwich

Young Foreman wins he would have paced himself and would have the time to brutally beat old Foreman, who would never have fought him as he chose his opponents carefully which is the reason why he never fought Lewis.

This question raises an important question for me.
Everyone is acutely aware that Ali's prime years may have been robbed from the boxing ring by circumstance...However in turn did Ali rob boxing of the prime of George Foreman?
George was very young and raw upto and until the point he fought Ali, the loss damaged his psyche and mentality and subsequently affected him badly up until his "layoff."
When he managed to repair the psychological damage and come back he was undeniably aged and past-peak...So im wondering (quite rightly i feel) had he not been beaten by ali, not taken the layoff how devastating could he have been? The power strength and youth of a 70's Foreman with the mentality, fortitude and work ethic of the 90's foreman? Did we miss out big time?....

Foreman only lost to Ali, he beat plenty of good fighters better than the 90's version so he would have paced himself, old Foreman was no Ali.

I agree with you that the boxing brain and experience of the old Foreman with the physical attributes of the young Foreman would have been unbeatable, (although I am sure Ali would find a way!)

Although im of the line of thinking that Foreman gained his mental fortitude through finding God.
Which i doubt he would of done, had he not temporarily turned his back on the sport.

This answer is easy: 70s Foreman easily beats 90s Foreman.

What did 90s Foreman actually do? He KO'd Michael Moorer with one punch, in a fight where he was losing every round. How many successful defenses did Moorer have as heavyweight champ? ZERO.

70s Foreman KO'd Joe Frazier and Ken Norton in a matter of minutes, and lost the title to the greatest heavyweight of all-time/

Foreman wasn't that past it and you say he had *just* been beaten by Ali when that was 3 years before hardly just anyway Young was very underrated and would give prime Foreman 90s Foreman trouble because he has the style to always trouble him don't let Young's record fool you them losses came at end of his career but in his prime when he was on form he was handful for anyone.
