I see a De La Hoya-Trinidad type situation. I think Kessler surprises everybody by taking the fight to Calzaghe and getting the better of it for most of the rounds. Only to see the decision go to the home town fighter.

I think Joe's hands will come into play again, its happened last three fights? Dont know how much of a factor that will be for Joe but I can see him breaking his hand on Kesslers elbows because hes got a good guard and he keeps it up. Kessler is still pretty unknown to me though ...I have seen about 3 of his fights in full, then some highlights. Kesslers chin is in question still with me since Andrade didnt get many shots in on Kessler...Andrade is no slouch either.

Personally...I think that everyone's disregarding Kessler & looking for another Joe C blowout ala the Lacy fight. I just don't see it...so I voted Calzaghe by a hard fought decision.

I say that Kess gives Joe some issues with size & footwork & what not...also...Kessler has a defense where Lacy did not.

Not me i reckon 100 percent Calzaghe would win ud but thing is Wacko is that im worried about Calzaghe's hands but if we are talking 100 percent Calzaghe he is bit too quick and too much workrate for Kessler winning a ud 115-113 115-113 116-112.

I see a UD too. My prediction is that the cards will be a bit wider though. Not a landslide by any means.

I have Calzaghe by hard fought decision. I admit that I don't know much about Kessler other than reviewing his record and seeing the Andrade fight, but from what I can tell, Calzaghe's pressure tactics along with hand speed and punch output should win him the fight.

I honestly think joes speed will not be a big problem for Kessler. Mundine is as fast if not faster than Joe and he dealt with him easily. I think Joes work rate and angles are a bigger problem than speed.

Voted a hard fought calzaghe win.
The hard fought element could be amplified by hand worries but i see the main problem being the deliberate forward march of kessler.
Mikkel will not back off when hit with smaller punches, he will need to be forced, can calzaghe risk this and if he doesn't will he find himself under huge pressure. I can see it unfolding as Calzaghe Eubank did, but without the early knockdown. So for the first time i am curious as to whether calzaghes age will come into effect??

I wouldn't be at all shocked to see Terry O'Connor referee and stop the fight prematurely like delivering a 3 month old foetus.

I just have a feeling that this fight will have a controversial ending that will not give us a true answer to who the best man at 168lbs is. It's just starting to feel like a permanent unanswered question.

Terry does tend to stop fights early, but if either guys has the ability to merit a stoppage win over the opponent even on a technicality id be pretty convinced he'd be the top guy.

However the only way i can see a stoppage in this fight is from A kessler vantage point. Joe is unlikely to ko kessler imo.

Brilliant analysis Wacko and nice to hear someone speak up Joes side, I read in the press at the time of the Lacy fight that Joe would be facing a cross between Hollyfield and Tyson at there best...

And to be honest, having watched a hell of a lot of Joe and a little Lacy, I COULD NOT SEE THE THREAT AT ALL...

Joe is as hard as they come and can fight the fight with anyone out there......or box a master class...

So for me in the Kessler fight Joe's hardness, and do not under estimate that, combined with excellent boxing ability, and phenomenal hand and foot speed, as well as being able to punch from angles that are as yet undiscovered by man see's him blasting Kessler into points oblivion...

A well boxed and fought big points decision for Joe, I was ringside for the Lacy fight (got lucky there eh) and he was blurring in speed and pain full in his slaps...hard as nails when he needed.

From the first round he'd chose a tactic that meant he would meet Lacy head on ...and he did in so in such style too...

But then to the press and so on was Joe that good then, Naaaaaa just Lacy an over hyped puncher, errrrrr that could not punch....according to Joe that is...(did anyone here the US commentary on that one when Joe goes Back to the corner at the end of the second I think it was and said to his dad, he cant punch shit, hes got f**k all)..

Calzaghe by a hard fought UD.Think Calzaghes work rate will win it for him,he shades alot of close rounds with his work rate alone thats gonna be the main factor in this fight i recon.

This is a fight where i really don't know who to pick.....joe's hand issues and how much he slaps make me want to lean towards kessler but then there's the lacy fight where i felt he was gonna get whoooped and we see how that turned out, kessler has constantly impressed me although i'm not sure if it's been against the same level of comp that joe's been in with, i'm right in the middle with this one.....
