Exactly. This fight would be huge in Britain, Ricky wouldn't need US television backing to make money from this, this is the only logical fight for him if he decides to fight in the UK after Mayweather (assuming he loses).Originally Posted by GAME

Up until now that excuse has been justified cuz he is topping the bill in Vegas and doesnt need Witter but circumstances change . If Ricky loses and is looking for a way back then who better than a guy like Witter who has the WBC title and has been a long time rival . If Ricky doesnt fight him after he loses to Floyd ( if he does ) then people will question if he is scared of Witter .Originally Posted by Fenster

It's NEVER been clear as day Hatton would beat Witter that's why so many Brit fans have always wanted the match.Originally Posted by 'Big' Dan McCarthy
Last night showed again, when on form, Witter would be dangerous for anyone.

No way Witter will ever say "no way" to Hatton. While it is a noble idea, Witter will still need Hatton more than Hatton will need Witter.....loss or not.

if Witter wins the other titles in the 140 division will he need Hatton anymore?Originally Posted by boozeboxer

Witter would still need Hatton. A British fighter always needs bouts that can bring home copious amounts of fights for a domestic bouts. That is common sense.

Yeh I read an interview with Witter and says he thinks about Ricky Hatton everyday.
Never will Witter say no to Hatton under any circumstances.
Never in a million years. Witter probably hasn't even seen 6 figures in his career. Witter would take a Hatton fight with both hands behnd his back if it meant a big payday.Originally Posted by Majesty

Exactly....if Hatton offers Witter a fight, it'll be because Hatton wants to regain a title at that weight, and Witter will make a career-high payday by a distance. For Witter to turn that down, Hatton would be a little disappointed, but as he drives off in his convoy of ferrari's, leaving Witter stuck at the lights in his renault clio, I know which side of the fence I'd prefer.Originally Posted by 'Big' Dan McCarthy
And Fenster....you refer to "so many Brit fans have always wanted the match", but I'm not convinced that a majority would want to see Witter v Hatton, big international names like Cotto would have more attraction for British fans as well as those further afield.
