Peter was badly shaken by featherfisted JM........Wlad was not shaken by SP in the same way, he looked more scared or confused.

You have to get shaken to a certain degree for a 6''7 guy to hit the deck 3 times

Not really. A disaster would be losing and then losing his title shot. He got knocked down, looked average but most importantly, won. The W is all that matters. It was a case of look bad,get through this one and look good the next time. If he wins the title from Oleg, this fight will be a distant memory.

To be honest Peter isn't that impressive he got a gift against natural Middleweight Toney won the rematch but come on Toney wouldn't even be in top 10 in 90s 80s 70s its just how disgraceful the Heavyweights are now that Toney is even competing at Heavyweight Peter decked Wlad 3 times but they were from back of the head shots other than that he was completey outboxed by Wlad Peter has good power but not devasting like people are trying to say just look at his record 29 wins 22 KO's and has not stopped anyone worth noting and now getting decked 3 times by McCline who isn't known as a hard hitter i think Peter has been overrated.

    Well those are interesting points

    HOWEVER

Sam Peter is a well known power puncher and is also known for having a 'great chin' as his fans brag about

Jameel McCline has 23 KO's in 38 wins...and the last time he knocked someone good down was against Calvin Brock or Chris Byrd a couple years ago.

All I know is that Sam Peter's lack of attention to defense will catch up with him sooner since he got hurt in this fight, people thought he had an iron chin and it's just not true, with heavyweights any punch at any time thrown by anybody (except Zuri Lawrence) can end the fight or result in a knockdown.....that being said it was rather surprising that McCline hurt Sam Peter at all.

Wladimir has been hurt plenty of times before but never by a guy like McCline who can't punch very well at all....Corrie Sanders, Lamon Brewster, and hell even Davaryl Williamson and Ross Purrity can punch.

Anyway you slice it the best Sam Peter can get out of this fight is a learning experiance and the knowledge that he can get up and win....other than that it's a piss poor performance by a heavyweight who should have done a lot better....it's the story of the entire division, there is no consistancy which is what makes fans hate the division. The good fighters may or may not fight well, the bad fighters may have the fight of their lives or just fold like a lawn chair, and beyond that the big matchups have not been made and the inconsitancy is a reason for it

If you're 6'7 and get dropped because of "rabbit punches", that's all you.

I Personally dont think hes overrated really.I never expected Freakshow Mccline to drop him 3 times but honestly after that I did not expect Peter to get up and battle back to go full 12 And get the W.
Sounds odd but I dont think that because Mccline put him down and hurt him that Maskaev Would duplicate it.Jameel Was punching Under/up and down with faster shots on Petes glass TEmple.Maskaev slower and wider puncher also not Frickin 6'7 .

And what was he yelling at when punching.thought Chuck F!!! Norris was coming through my door.

Well everyone questions Wladimir's chin....so it was no shock that Sam Peter knocked him down....I'm not making excuses for him.

But Sam Peter a guy who USUALLY can take a good shot got floored 3 times by JAMEEL MCCLINE

It's not like Sam was fighting a devistating puncher....props to him for surviving but that doesn't make up for his bad performance

You Wlad haters need to focus on the problems with YOUR BOY and not what Wlad is or isn't doing....don't get all defensive. Sam Peter had a bad night and he's getting called on it like any other fighter

McCline is no different from byrd and brock. Wlad's been hurt to the point of losing where as peter has not been yet peter has flaws and wlad is the end all champion? I'm not petitioning for mccline to be in the hall of fame or anything, but like it or not he is the higher end competition of this era (not saying much but thats all there is). Peter would be champion if maskaev would quit ducking him then i'm sure your boy wlad wouldn't even hesitate to unify against peter like he's been crying since he beat byrd back in april of last year . Mccline gave peter a rough time, but he didn't give him a loss. Again i'll remind you that purrity was never anything more than a journeyman. If he was really THAT prolific of a puncher, you'd have to assume he'd have a winning record especially in this heavyweight era.

Peter is a mandatory challenger that is being shamefully ducked by a chump. Wlad is the concensus #1 heavyweight in the world and can't land a unification bout with bums who haven't even defended their title? Peter isn't my boy, I can't say there's any heavyweight in the top 20 right now that I have a whole lot of stock in (it's all about the future there). Peter is decent and better than just about anyone else in the division. He's tougher competition than any of the fringe contenders (or journeyman courtesy of wlad) brought into this conversation. He, just like wlad, isn't an approveable undisputed heavyweight champ to me.
