What about Buddy McGirt and Lamon Brewster? Or Mickey Ward and Arturo Gatti

So your answer was.......none of them then?
That reads as: Ishe never had anything to do worse at and oscar/taylor had legit opponents they lost to. Toney just keeps circling the drain and any partnership with him is a bad idea.

I have to go with Taylor and Steward. A top 10 P4P fighter, unbeaten and with a very good resume combining with a legendary trainer should have led to great things.

I find is hard to blame Ward for that. The only was he could have had success with Gatti is if he was a necromancer and able to animate the living dead.

Micky was more like his motivator. Gatti knew what to do Mickey just gave him an extra push. Gatti would have lost reguardless of who was in his corner.

LMAO; no doubt man. Though Gatti still would have gotten beaten.

....part of being a trainer is knowing if your fighter has any chance of winning and if he's risking his life in the process (more than other fights because you always risk your life in a fight)

What about Peter Manfredo and his dad Doesn't Jr. get trained by Sr. Anyways, that's an unsuccessful partnership imo.

Yeah, that's definately true. I think Ward genuinely believe Gatti had a shot, but he should've known better.

I would have to say Jermaine and Manny by far, because i feel Taylor loss the Spinks fight too, just because he didn't throw any punches and didn't do enough to win the fight and he loss the Pavlik fight. Taylor doesn't seem to be listening to a word Stewart got to say and if this partnership doesn't end soon, it will get a lot worst for Taylor.

....I think Jermain had the body type and maybe an incling of style to be successful with Manny but obviously he's not a guy who likes to jab, hook off the jab, and throw the right hand. IMO he's not on his toes enough or vicious enough to be a Manny Steward fighter.

Sometimes the old saying "If it ain't broke don't fix" it applies and this would be one of them. I thought Manny would take Jermain to the hall of Fame but the partnership didn't work out too well.

Taylor either needs a better defense or he needs to be up on his toes moving around....maybe he could go back to Birmingham or maybe he could pick up someone else....Joe Goosen or Floyd Mayweather Sr. or someone

Manny and taylor here....everyone just waited and waited for manny to turn jermain into this great fighter, he seemed like he was close and just needed the icing on top, but it never happened and taylor never (at least to me) fought the same again. Stick with what got you there jermain. I still don't think he would have won that night, pavlik was just on one.
