Rather watch him go out while young and with his teeth then stay around when his reflexes and speed were shot and take unnecessary punishment
Actually i would of admired him alot more had he comeback and fought Barrera in a rematch all he is known for now is the way he got embarrassed by Barrera.
Only by people who choose to see him that way because they don't like him.

He was one of the most exciting featherweights of his time and was THE MAN in that division until Barerra came along.

So he'd only be seen as just an overrated person who barerra embarrassed if someone wanted to ignore all his accomplishments beforehand
Actually Majesty its not just people who dislike him ask any armchair fan and there tell you the same he was only 28 Majesty come on how many champions who lost there title when there on top just retire like that ?? it shows a weak character he can't handle losing and just gave up.
    Tito Trinidad
Atleast he comeback again and had another go at it and challenged Wright even though he quit again.

Naz was only 28 you don't leave the sport just because you lost real champions comeback training twice as hard hungry for revenge.

And real Champions do not lose, fail to redeem themselves, retire, get fat and still walk around as if they own the place, claiming they're gonna make a comeback and beat Barrera

Sure he was outboxed and outsmarted but surely any fighter wants to avenge their losses.

I disagree with the poster who said credit to Nas for staying retired

Nas never officially retired . He kept talking of a Barrera return but never had the heart to follow through with it .

if youve seen pictures of naz lately its safe to assume he's safely retired. he makes the pilsbury doughboy look anorexic.

Hamed made money and had a good run , simple fact is MAB and Morales were not just good fighters they were great fighters , something Hamed never was , power can only take you so far , yes Hamed was world champion , but does anyone think for 1 min he could have beaten anyone on this list :-
    Azumah Nelson
    Salvador Sanchez
    Willie Pep
    MAB
    Eric Morales ?
Hamed simply wasnt technically good enough againest the very best.
