No!!!! Its because this happened 4-5 years ago and he never tested positive for a banned substance even at the time of the incident.

The only people being punished are the ones who are testing positive. You cant intelligenly punish someone in sports when they passed all the required tests.

This argument is lame because the steroids Shane took were DESIGNED to go UNDETECTED.  That's why they were taken!!  All the people associated with Balco did not test positive for steroids because they used "designer" steroids.

His Character or public opinion was not called into question here its why he wasnt punished by any of the athletic commissions.... you can question him all you want thats your perogative.

Gamo do you have a source on this? As far as I can remember he never actually admitted to knowingly taking a performance enhancing drug with the purpose getting an illigal advantage. At least in the article I read it sounded more like he followed the trainer's instructions and was not aware there was something wrong.

Yeah,he admitted to taking to taking it but took it unknowingly,supposedly. In the same article,he said he was "a health freak". Quite strange for a health freak to take an illegal supplement....

If that's the one you are referring to than that's the one I saw. I might look through it again if I get the chance but all that report showed was some acusations, a statement that he was a witness in the Balco case (but no specifics on what he actually said) among other things. Nothing really clear. I also read a statement from Mosley shortly after this where he stated this was like something they were trying out. They didn't know much about it and as soon as they found out it was illigal, they stopped.

I don't know if what he sais is true or not but the fact is that there is no way for any of us to know if he deliberately and knowingly took performance enhancing drugs. Like I said, I usually give people the benefit of the doubt. I'm glad to live in a country where you are innocent till proven guilty and not the other way around.

I would like to point out that this was only done for one fight and that was the seccond DLH fight. He had already beaten DLH once and I think his legacy was well secured by then. He is still considered by most boxing fans (NOT ME) to be the first to beat DLH and that was before he allegedly started doping.

I do love Cotto AND I love Mosley as a person too!! No need for the hostility. I wasn't attacking JT nor Mosley. I was attacking JT's ARGUMENT, which is what they teach you to do in rhetoric classes. I was simply responding to JT's "logic," which did not make much sense to me in my opinion. After all, isn't what this site is all about-to express our opinions? Maybe Mosley needed steroids to compete at 154. That is a legitimate question, after all, his power seems to have become average after moving to 147-154 (less than 50% in 17 fights, 2 KO's in his last 11 fights, both against a finished Vargas).

I'm not biased. Had this been Margarito/Cotto or any other fighter,I would have reacted the same. I can almost guarantee had this been Margarito/JC or any other fighter you disliked,you would be calling for their head. And please enlighten me,are you a lawyer? Do you know alot about law?

No I'm not a lawyer, IYO does that diqualify me from being able to interpret the fundamentals of law this isint a tough one... We have an admission, we have a fighter that passed all the tests administered to him and declared clean at the time. outside of that you have 0 evidence, technically there is nothing to tie Shane to cheating even know we all know he did and admitted it. without concrete evidence or something substantial beyond a reasonable doubt, there is nothing anyone can do about it unfortunately... If it was Margarito or Calzaghe I would be saying the same thing. The problem is, if they try to suspend him he can counter and sue because they have 0 evidence only a clean drug test

Shane cheated against Delahoya, shame on him, if he had dirty blood or urine and they could suspend him I would be calling for his head. What if he was beating Oscar down and permanetly injured him from steroid use in that fight, its inexcusable...

I'm not biased. Had this been Margarito/Cotto or any other fighter,I would have reacted the same. I can almost guarantee had this been Margarito/JC or any other fighter you disliked,you would be calling for their head. And please enlighten me,are you a lawyer? Do you know alot about law?

No I'm not a lawyer, IYO does that diqualify me from being able to interpret the fundamentals of law this isint a tough one... We have an admission, we have a fighter that passed all the tests administered to him and declared clean at the time. outside of that you have 0 evidence, technically there is nothing to tie Shane to cheating even know we all know he did and admitted it. without concrete evidence or something substantial beyond a reasonable doubt, there is nothing anyone can do about it unfortunately... If it was Margarito or Calzaghe I would be saying the same thing. The problem is, if they try to suspend him he can counter and sue because they have 0 evidence only a clean drug test

Shane cheated against Delahoya, shame on him, if he had dirty blood or urine and they could suspend him I would be calling for his head. What if he was beating Oscar down and permanetly injured him from steroid use in that fight, its inexcusable...
