kosta got a taste of his own medicine when hatton done him with the low blow , fair play to hatton he showed he wasnt gonna be bullied or intimidated on the big stage, kosta had already done hatton wiv 2 low shots and after hatton gave him 1 back kosta didnt go down that road again, kosta was runnin out of ideas , i really dont trhink any 1 would of stopped hatton that night he was a man possessed. and im saying this as a neutral as im not hattons biggest fan, and most his performances since that night have been below par

The only reason Hatton hit KT with a low blow was because KT hit him with 2 low blows first. I think it wouldnt have matter where the fight was held Hatton was well up for this fight and noone was gonna beat him that night.

It would not have made any difference where the fight was held .

You only have to watch Tyson or Holyfields fights over the last 20 years or so to know that American refs dont mind dirty fighters.

By the way has Koysta ever complained about this?

that is true. so u feel if the ref was like lets say hypothetically like joe cortez or jay nady and the fight was still in hatton's backyard the outcome would still be similar?
Violent Demise may be right. I just remebered that blatant, viscious low blow he gave to Kostya, that alone may have done it.
yeah speaking of that low blow i read an article that said KT had to be hospital for a week and urinated blood painfully for a week after that fight. that tells me there was some major low blow damage or atleast body shots galore done to KT that night.
That was following on from a low blow Kostya gave Ricky. The referee was just warning Kostya, so Ricky said he knew the referee wasn't going to DQ him when he gave Kostya a warning for the same thing.

Not to take anything away from Hatton and his performance and win over KT. I am quite a big fan of both fighters. But many criticize how Hatton allegedly gets away with more of his antics/fighting style in his backyard with his so called wrestling and roughhousing manner. Had Hatton fought KT in Vegas or Atlantic City instead of in Hattons backyard would there have been a possible different outcome to the fight?

    What do you honestly feel?
Kostya himself has said many times he was beaten fair and square by Ricky. It would have ended the same way. Kostya retired in the 11th round. No dodgy judging, no nothing. The result would have been the same.

I hate threads like this. Not a criticism of you TUA, it's just a opening for a floodgate of haters to say how shit/lucky they think Hatton is.

One low blow don't get you DQ come off it and Tszyu low blowed Hatton twice then Hatton retaliated.

It wuold not have made a difference where the fight was held. Hatton may have been dedudcted a point but 2 things stand out:Tszyu never complained so all these ifs and buts are irrelevant and Hatton, point deduction or not, would have won.

Tszyu lost to Vince Phillips in similar fashion, and struggled with Hector Lopez too. Every fighter has their achilles heel, for Tszyu,I believe it was someone who came right at him, someone who did not give him space to breathe/dictate the pace of the fight.

And let's be honest,it's not as if Tszyu did not hit back!

well hatton pretty much gets slated every time he wins anyway

    so to conclude.....

yes he would have lost if he fought in vegas

he should have been dq'd for taking two flush headbutts against carlos maussa

he only beat collazo because of the knockdown that clearly didnt hurt collazo.....altho the scorecards suggest that without a knockdown he would have still won an sd

he was shite against urango and he should have vacated all his titles and called it a day on the basis that he lost a whole one round

ko'ing castillo wasn't fair because castillo wasn't getting paid for the fight and that's the reason he stayed down after the body shot.

Hattons low blow was a clever move from a smart fighter.

As has already been pointed out Kostya was the one starting to take liberties with the goolie shots, Hatton put him firmly back in his place.

The low blow was a bit shameful but IMO it was more of the shots to the body that made KT dish out all the red
