Kessler is getting awfully mouthy these days. I just dont have to time to go into why I think Calzaghe will beat him by a relatively wide margin, but thats the way I see it.

Anyone expecting Calzaghe to be stopped early is smoking crack. Never happened before and no reason why it starts happening now.

Cannot wait for this fight. It will be a goody.

I'm not a big Calzaghe fan, but he's got my respect for fighting the best in his division in this fight at least.

If he does...much love & respect to the new champion...if not...I hope everyone who thrashes Joe here has the balls to pay homage to the old champion after he's dispatched another #1 contender.

Win, lose, or draw...Joe's earned at the least that.

I like Calzaghe as a fighter and you have to respect a man who has been champion for so long...I don't care what people say about his comp as champ...he has fought some good name and you know what it doesn't matter how good you are there is always that chance of an off night where a guy you are better then by 200% could get the win...EG Chavez/Randall...Joe has avoided that...

My only real dislike of Calzaghe and the only thing I ever really fault him for is never wanting to leave home to fight...In fact he will do anything he can to stay home....other then two or so fights in Germany....I am sorry the whole he is champ why should he have to go anywhere crap does not fly with me....

EG all the talks with Roy Jones people....Calzaghe did not want to leave home to fight Jones and I do not care what anyone says....

People say you need to come to the champ if you want his title but when you are a guy like Jones who needs (or at the times) needed no title to show he was the man...you need come to him because when you are at that state of your career ( for either) you are fighting for legecy not belts...Jones is with out a doubt the bigger legecy...Calzaghe should have gone to Jones not the other way around....

Other then Calzaghe not wanting to venture from home I think he has been a great champ and is worthy of all the respect in the world....Anyone who denies Calzaghe is a great fighter or at minimum great champion is not talking with boxing knowledge he is talking out of his a**.......

With all that being said I hope Kessler knocks him on his a**
Daxx Im with you in the "hopes" department for Kessler but I give Calzaghe Props as well.

Jones said the same thing exactly when it came to venturing over the pond for credible challenges....Nigel Benn.....Darius Michalczewski.......S.Collins........Joe calzaghe Yeah,he probally would have dusted them(except Benn ) in the end but Saying you can do something and actually DOING something are different. With him it all came down to "they need me,I dont need (want) them"

BTW,Randall was not a fluke vs.Chavez.At his best Randall had the talent,Confidence and presence of mind to Beat the best.....Just look at the absolute Travesty in rematch.....Chavez knew it imo.

As for those that are younger again, I do have hope for Nathan Cleverly, who fights out of the Calzaghe stable, and has overcome a few tought fighters so far, though he's got plenty still to prove.
The I agrees: Stieglitz, Inkin, & Froch.

The not so sure abouts: the rest of your list.

No to Taylor or Pavlik...I like Pavlik...but he needs to stay at 160 & try to dominate.

Let me be the first to say "KESSLER WAS OVERRATED!". Before any of the bandwagon jumpers off do because trust me, that's all you will hear after the fight.

Anyone else worried Joe C might win by a dubious hometown decision?

I''m still rooting for Calzaghe,he skills are INSANE,he is skills alone a P4P boxer(was watching his career yesterday,is there ANYTHING this guy cannot do?!) but Kessler does possess the skills to beat him. The thing I'm worried about most is Kessler's jab and timing.

He may try to keep this fight on the outside alllll night long with his piston like jab and 1,2s which are superbly accurate. It's going to be a tough fight for both fighters, both are skilled,I can't wait!!!!!!!¬!

The winner deserves ALOT of credit! I don't want to hear anyone trying to discredit either fighter if they win(although I can already see it happening especially if JC wins!"Kessler was overrated, who had he beaten " etc)

I like this fight as the outcome has a universally positive effect.

No matter which guys wins, no matter how. This will have a positive effect on boxing.
An undisputed champion with a win over another legitimate champion reigning at the top. Nice one!
My only reservation is that should Joe win (which i think he will,) he won't be around very long and when he leaves we'll be missing a guy to fill his shoes.

I expect a great fight. If it is a close drama neither man would loose out, but count towards their legacy. I hope this will be the toughest fight for both men when Kessler and Calzaghe one day look back to the 3.November.

I don´t get the typical overrated thing, when you loose you are overrated. I have seen that statement several times around, also from some of the expects at saddo as well.
And it is even worse in Denmark, one loss and it is goodbye Kessler.

And of course both of them talk in headlines now. They kind of have to don´t they. I remember when Kessler fought Mundine Kessler stated he was in great shape, only to hide the fact he had a sever backinjury and he shouldn't´t have fought mundine in that condition. I guess he did it because he did not want to be perceived as a pussy. Anyway I think that Calzaghe is the cleverest of the 2. Instead of risking loosing on an injury he clever to only fight when he is 100%. He has weak hands, but I hope it will not be a deciding factor. Win /lose I hope it will be decided by skill not injuries.

Apart from that, I still see Calzaghe get a good taste WHAT Kessler can do. Kessler is fast and very very accurate. How would Calzaghe dodge that ? so far nobody has and I hope the Welsh lion will join the rest. Kessler "just" needs to keep Calzaghe away from in-fight where I can see Kessler could get in trouble.

Although i want joe to win i dont know about the positive effect it has...lets say Joe wins great for him unified
division but when he moves up...are we going to have the wbo wba and wbc have 3 different matchups for the
vacated titles and end up with a completly split division again...and depending on how the fight pans out is anyone going to want to get in the ring with kessler (who ive said prev joe would take this easy but after actually watching more of kessler it clearly isnt an easy fight) after he gives an account of his skills against one of the p4p top boxers.....

Will the new champions have the guts to get in the ring with him?

However if kessler wins we have a unified champ who is definatly sticking around at 168. I think much more positive for SMW if Kessler takes the win.........but nothing would make me happier to see Joe finally unify this division he's ruled for a decade.

Randall never got his just due against Chavez.
Daxx,I am not one to argue or throw out these inflamatory bombs just for a reaction But all I have to judge by is watching the 1st two fights until the original tapes Broke.
Lets be Clear....Overall without a doubt Looking at the context of there entire careers,Chavez was an all around More accomplished, consistent, and "better" fighter in regards to quality of opponents and overall ring record and dedication.Frankie "got clean" long enough to relize his tremendous skills and show that he was indeed a top championship caliber fighter.
He faltered and was proven weak against his toughfest of opponents...Addiction.
In my unbiased fair Opinion I think Randall had Chavez's Number. The first fight was one of the best displays of Boxing and ring general ship put on by an "underdog" against a living legend great I have ever witnessed.
I know what everyone said "chavez not training properly" "Chavez had too many Cerveza's" "Chavez Distracted by legal and personal Problems" But the bottom line is EVERYONE has Issues....thats Chavez problem.Randall put on a clinic and did not crumble capping it off with placing JCC neatly on his seat for the first time in his career.
The 2nd I believe Randall was on his way to a repeat OR possibly.....MAYBE....stopping Chavez..I know"LMAO...LOL " etc.I think it was a travesty and boarderline parlor trick the way Chavez Found a way out and "won" title back. For the 1st three rounds they stood in close and really traded big body shots. Both warned for low blows in 1st.The 2nd round saw Randall spear Chavez with that Powerful Straight right and Chavez was buckled bad and his nose Bloodied and come the 4th -7th Chavez actually turned Boxer and was backing up still landing good body but Randall showed no effects and fired off sharp punches.Chavez looked tired and discouraged. In the 8th on the inside with Chavez leading with head(A large portion of the night) ,Randall roles under after being clipped by right and the two collied.Cut above rt. eye.....Lane rules it Unintentional and deducts point.Doctor said he could go on...."You can go",Mills ask Doctor and Chavez "stop the fight?"Chavez Shakes his head forward saying "My head"( I dont speak Spanish but body language is universal) Dr.Homansky said If Chavez wanted to continue He probably would have let him. Chavez and King found a way to get belt back and did not pursue what should have been Immediate Rematch. It took TEN (10) years before Randall (fresh out of drug re-hab and relapse ) was given another shot....From what I saw twice In the complete context of Those two in the same ring IN Both Fights. Randall was just as good as Chavez....Without doubt. AND Chavez Knew It!! I apologize For highjacking thread and do tend to let passion and thoughts run on.Daxx Im not trying to one up you bro and respect your insight and opinion in these threads. These fights have stuck with me for Years and I needed To VENT .CC to you Daxx.
