Michael Moorer almost KO'd in Puerto Rico

I read alot of things on here some true some hurtful. I grew up with Michael Moorer in Monessen PA we are still friends now. I will admit at one point he was very cocky when he was with Emmanual Stewart and he was 27-0-0 with 27 knockouts and won the lightheavy weight title. The first person to do so with a 100% knockout ratio. Again he was young and he came from not having alot to everyone back home wanting something from him trying to get a payday out of him. He had an very bad attitude but at the same time would still give a stranger the shirt off his back. on several occasions he would just walk up to people and ask them if they had food or give them money or stop his benz and give a homeless person a money. I am not saying back then he was a saint by far but the michael moorer I know now I just went down south Fl to see him and I met him at the dr office with his neighbor kid that hurt his knee and his mom could not take him to the dr so mike cleared his day and took the boy and sat with him for 3 hours and paid for it.

He is a different person. I realize that this may not mean anything to most of you but if there is one person that cares I am happy.

As far as fighting is concerned he knocked out couser recently and his also his next two fighters before this fight.

If he is still winning why should he give up his license to fight that is how he feeds his family. He is not getting his head beat in but of course that is what people like to think.

He has 51 wins and 4 losses which is really good for boxing and anyone that fights knows that.

Anyone can be beat but right now he is winning so I think that deserves some respect.

GOB BLESS YOU GUYS I had no idea men had so much hatred towards eachother.

I support anyone who has the courage to get in the ring and fight Win lose or Drawl and the people that box should feel the same

What can I tell you about the comments you've read?
People here hold nothing back they wear their opinions right on their sleeves.
If boxing fans here feel tha Moorer is cocky and or a jerk then that's because that's what Moorer gave us as fans at the moment in which the cameras were turned on him. I know about Moorer the boxer aside from what you listed he was also the very 1st Southpaw to become Heavyweight Champion.
Moore is not the 1st or the last to come from nothing to something theirs been plenty and they will be plenty more in the future.
If Moore came across as a jerk or cocky then thats a choice Moorer made. Not his people, not his friends but Moore.
Theirs been plenty of fighters who came from nothing who had lots of people waiting back for something. Like the fighters owed them something but they didn't act like that.
I just feel that whatever Moore did or acted he is responsible for. If Moorer is the way you say he is and has done thos things for people that's great.
You nor Moorer should feel you owe it to people to make up for the way he behaved at one point cause us the fans aint here keep a tally on the goood and bad things he did. He owes all that info. to the man up stairs he and only he.
About Moorer giving up his liscence I agree with you ikecapone Moorer is entitled to work he needs to earn a living and thats his 9-5 why should he have to give up his liscence? Hes wining fights and that's what matters. If the Athletic State Commission feels Moorer needs to be tested I'm sure they will have him checked and tested. But until then I think Moorers entitled to work for a living.
