I see nothing wrong with this thread...even though someone has already lambasted you for it.

Anywho...provided that Hatton doesn't either beat Floyd or bust him up or cut him...YES...Hatton vs Floyd is the fight to be made.

I will say this...as much as we have all talked back & forth...Hatton vs Cotto is not really something I want to see...Hatton's style vs Cotto's style would amount to a headbutt with a cut most likely. They both rush in far too much for a compelling flight, IWHO.

As far as Floyd vs Cotto goes...I think that it would be fantastic & that it would probably be the tuffest test of both Cotto & Floyd's career. As far as the outcome...I think that Floyd would use the Mosley fight as a blue print to beating Cotto. Had Mosley not stood in the pocket with Cotto...we have had a different outcome on our hands.

Floyd would box smarter & not stay in front of Cotto as long as we saw Mosley do.

Floyd is one helluva boxer, but a fighter, he ain't. I don't think he could take the type of shots that Mosley took, so his only chance would be to do what he always does, evade and pot shot. The question would be, can Cotto chase him down and catch him cleanly with power shots? This seems to be the standing challenge to all of Mayweather's opponents. The little SOB is just too hard to hit. I'd love to see this fight though, and I think Cotto has just as good of chance as any at dethroning PBF.

Just to be fair Andre Ricky was bad at 147 because he fought the wrong type of fighter....a fight vs Cotto would be different than the fight with Collazo.

I still think Cotto would smash him but it would be a fun fight to watch.

Hatton-Malinaggi would be nice to see

Well although i am a blatant Hatton fan, I give Ricky a chance against any of the fighters mentioned above. And i certainly don't see him being stopped

Cotto-Floyd. I LOVE Miguel, literally, and if anyone can beat Floyd,it's him BUT,Floyd is so hard to catch. I'd love to see Miguel land on him though,Floyds never met anyone that can dig to the body as hard as Cotto and yes,I include the arm punches Oscar was throwing at Floyd at 154. Cotto's jab could be the key,but I also think the ring size is important.

I understand what you said Wack about Floyd not standing in front of Cotto for long like Shane BUT Floyd has a VERY LIMITED arsenal at 147. His defence wins the fight. He also voluntarily backs up the ropes(did this alot v Baldo and Oscar) and that would play into Miguel's favour. Remember,Miguel will hit you anywhere,as long as it's damaging,it doesnt matter.

I can see Cotto racking up points via his jab.He may not land anywhere near as much as he usually does because Floyd has an AMAZING defence but judges,as stupid as it is,don't ALWAYS score for the person landing the most amount of punches. Sometimes, throwing lots more punches than your opponent can do the trick(see Ponce v Penelosa and PW v Tony) In fact, that could be considered the case in Oscar v Floyd even. I had Floyd,as did most who know how to score fights, winning by a good3-4 point margin. The judges had it far closer, because of the illusion that Oscar was throwing and landing alot more.

Taking into account all the factors, plus others I have not mentioned like Cotto's deceptive handspeed, ability to cut off the ring,I'm going for a Miguel split decision.Sledom am I wrong with big fights,I've never been wrong with a Cotto fight, and I don't think I would be here.

I reckon that Cotto v Hatton is a much better match-up for the fans, because although Mayweather is the most complete boxer that we have in the world at the moment, he doesn't get involved in the exciting scraps that we all want to see.

He didn't get any sympathy from the fans when he retired last time out, so I hope that he goes off and retires in a huff after this next one, although I'm pretty sure he will win against Hatton.

Hatton v Cotto would be a proper battle between two great fighters, but although I'd watch Cotto v Floyd, I wouldn't expect a thriller.
