lost to a one handed roy jones.......................... roy jones always seems to claim he had a broken hand going into fights, he did it againest hopkins, james toney and someone else

to become world champion, to go on and be the undisputed champion and reign for 10 years makes you a atg

KEITH HOLMES, WILLIAM JOPPY, HOWARD EASTMAN - if they were around in 1990 they would not have been top 20 !

TITO, OSCAR, WINKY all former welters, superfeathers or superwelters

i was reading something EUBANK said about STEVE COLLINS "STEVE COLLINS in my opinion was a very ordinary fighter, who had been around for yrs without achieving anything spectacular"

who does that sound like ?

think of TYSON'S KO'S, BENN'S KO'S, RJJ'S KO'S, CALZAGHE KD'ING EUBANK, EUBANK'S fights with BENN (1) and WATSON (2), HATTON on PENDLETON, or just think about any top name fighter and they achieved something spectacular early on

    HOPKINS ? no

I don't care if a guy lost to a limbless mannequin....To be champion of one of boxings premier divisions for almost 11yrs and have 20 defenses puts you in the ATG catagory......

I echo Trainer Monkey's words...This thread has to be a joke
Although I agree with you guys that BHop is an all time great the OP does have a point about Hopkins highlight reel though.

Put it this way, how many of you would seek out his career set on DVD?
Well Bilbo....I must be one of the biggest suckers. Before the DVD sets came out and the downloads available,I payed 25 bucks for a tape Of Everything there was on Early Hopkins...Yes The Great one B-Hop even had to re-dube as I I wore through them.A true tactical master Indeed

I wouldn't have him ahead of both Monzon or Hagler. Hopkins was good but his best wins were against the smaller guys moving up. He is in the top 5 of all time Middleweights due to his long reign and defence record
but both the Marvellous one and King Carlos would have beaten him.

He is maybe top 3 Middleweight of all time but some people could argue Greb for that spot but i think Greb is maybe 4 or 5 best Middleweight of all time. But i do think Robinson's Middleweight campaign is a bit overrated he went 8-6 in championship fights i believe thats why i can't understand why some people call him best Middleweight of all time.

Quite right, Hagler's best wins were against smaller guys but i put him ahead of Hopkins due to his seven year reign and the win against Hearns was awesome. Not much between them, I have Monzon as no.1 Middleweight.

yeah his losses were early in his career but he had some draws in the middle of his career, some against c class opponents and he avenged many of them. Monzon is the greatest middleweight of all time imo and he shouldnt be remembered for his draws or loses just like Hopkins shouldnt be ranked lower because he drew with Mercado once. He went on to get the biggest wins of his career after that. Monzon did the same.

Duran was the smallest guy Hagler beat...most everyone else was about the same size.....Leonard is actually bigger then Hagler. Mugabi abt the same height but face to face he is and was much thicker,,,Mugabi really sucked it up to fight at 154.......Hearns we all know was much bigger....Minter, Vito etc all within an inch of Hagler and about the same weight.....

Hagler was a solid middleweight....he did not walk around at 180 then drop to 160.....Marvin maintained about 170 when not fighting in his prime....He was just a machine
