I know a lot of people might think I'm crazy but IMO feel Pete wins this, he's back with Freddie and is over the Calzaghe loss and that Banks win will give him a bit of confidence who beat Ayala twice and Smith IMO and many others whereas Jeff has not got over Calzaghe, he's had one fight since and got beat IMO and is mentally unstable in fighting terms. I really don't think he is. He couldn't get the weak chinned Omar Sheika out of there and it took him several rounds to wear down guys like Syd Vanderpool and Rubin Williams.

The only guy he looked specatcular in demolishing was Scott Pemberton and Manfredo did an even better job on him. His win over Robin Reid was surpassed by Carl Froch too.

He may get a stoppage from a cautious refereee but I can practically guarantee that Manfredo won't be knocked out. I don't even believe he'll get knocked down.

My own belief is that the fight will go the full 12 rounds unless another referee does to Manfredo what Terry O'Conner did.


My longshot though is that the fight gets stopped on cuts or bruising to Lacy's eyes.

Manfredo tends to go in hard with his head yet never seems to get cut himself. He ripped open Joey Gilbert's face with an accidental headbutt and did the same to Mora and both times he didn't sustain so much as a scratch.

I reckon he's just hard headed whereas Lacy can cut and bruise almost as easily as Ricky Hatton.

How can you be coming off a two year layoff and yet have had a warm up fight?

Reid just doesn't have it any more. He didn't train for the Lacy fight and was only there for the payday.

The fact he kept going down was just lack of conditioning, bad balance and being in the ring with a young, strong hungry fighter whilst he himself was old and disinterested.

The Reid that almost beat Calzaghe woulnd't have been floored by Lacy.

And its worth noting that Lacy didn't stop Reid, his corner pulled him out.

Lacy doesn't have devastating one punch power, he's just an aggressive pressure fighter who wears people down by accumalation.

Don't get me wrong, I really like him but I don't see why people think he's going to blast through Manfredo in 4 rounds.

Manfredo has never even been down in a fight to my knowledge. He's a durable kid who can take a punch. The stoppage loss to Calzaghe was just a terrible refereering decision.

As long as he doesn't spend too much time on the ropes in this fight I don't see Lacy stopping him.
