Yes he is a buisness man, but he does know the boxing game, and he is stating the obvious and speaking the truth. (I still want Ricky to K O floyd just cant see it happening.)![]()

I'm not actually convinced Frank does no the boxing game all that well. He (as a business man) spotted a gap in the market, got into boxing filled that niche, surrounded himself with advisors and "experts" and confers with them on all decisions. Stiill with that advice he plays it very carefully, highlighting his lack of confidence in his field.Originally Posted by gally

I think Frank is just regurgitating some stuff he reads when he tries to put an analysis on these fights. You're right, he did pick Castillo to give Hatton a rough night, it's just sour grapes. I doubt it he wants Ricky to win by the tone of his article.Originally Posted by hitmandonny

Whether you like Warren or not he knows boxing. It's silly/naive to think otherwise.Forget the crap he writes in papers, ALL managers/promotors are biased towards their guys.. that's how it goes.Originally Posted by hitmandonny

Warren is biased towards his guys, but at the end of the day, how much confidence does he actually have in them?
No disrespect in turn but iv been in a boxing gym every day for the past ten years and i no that fighters like Ricky Hatton, Calzaghe and Naseem Hamed deserved better opposition than Warren allowed them to face. This was a result of his lack of confidence

1. Naz never lost under Warren - packed houses both sides of the Atlantic earning MILLIONS of pounds.
2. Hatton never lost under Warren - packed houses in the UK, became the undisputed champ at 140, earning millions of pounds.
3. Calzaghe has never lost under Warren - packed houses in the UK, currently hailed as the greatest ever supermiddle, earning millions of pounds.
What's the problem? If you like you can NAME all these fighters Warren dodged on behalf of Hatton, Calzaghe and Naz?

Ricky had been looking for Kostya for 2 years before Warren got him
Naseem didn fight Morales or Barrera until he left Warren
Calzaghe was served up fighters like Robin Reid, Salem and Bika
Now my questions:
How come Hatton left warren if he was doing such a good job?
Why did Calzaghe express interest in leaving Warren in order to get the fights he wanted?
Why did Naz leave him?

I'm Franks biggest fan for asking you questions? Come on don't get upset, bud.Originally Posted by hitmandonny
Ricky was delivered Kostya with home advantage. So your answer don't mean much, but bear in mind Kostya was injured for long periods of that "two years before."
Barrera was offered the Naz fight whilst with Warren but turned it down. Plus Morales and Barrera were operating in another weightclass.
Calzaghe is still with Warren, so your answer don't mean much.
Here's the answer to your questions - Money.

Warren delivered the Kostya fight o the understanding that hatton would gfo independent if Frankd didn sort it out. Following the Tszyu fight Warren wanted to revert to safety first but Ricky aborted.
Why was it that Barrera was approached and not Morales as Morales was seeen as the more dangerous of the two. weight class or not, that fight was the talking point back then.
Calzaghe relationship with Warren is at best strained and his career in the eyes of many has been tainted by Warrens management.
I can see from the Money point that you are along the same mindset as Frank, but to others in the sport money is not the most important thing and it is often the case that if money is discounted or set at a lower rung of importance better fights get made.

You don't have to box to know boxing/be a trainer/manager/promoter. It'll give you a different perspective for sure.
Many boxers whilst still wanting the glory are in it for the big bucks.
" if money is discounted or set at a lower rung of importance better fights get made." and fights would not get made.
Can you give some examples?Originally Posted by hitmandonny
